Abstract

PURPOSE:To remove a stain due to a toner particle and to open a cover automatically at time of mounting requiring no specific work by covering the exposed part of a developing roll automatically with a cover when the developing device is removed from an electrophotographic copying machine body. CONSTITUTION:When the developing device body 21 is removed from the copying machine body, the cover 31 is energized in a clockwise direction by the force of a coil spring 38 and a retain piece 35 for the cover 31 is abutted on the retain piece 26 of the device body 21. Namely, the blocks 31 closes the opening 25 of the device body 21 completely and the developing roll 23 is completely covered. とがあった。特に取り外した現像装置3を誤って傾けた
りした場合には、トナー粒子が多量にこぼれてしまうこ
とがあった。

を付勢部材の力に抗して開放させる開放手段とを備え、
現像装置本体を電子複写機本体から取り外すときカバー
で現像ロールの露出部分を被うようにしたものである。

に装着すると、第3図に示すように、現像装置本体21
の開口25は完全に開放され、現像ロール23が所期の
通り露出されることとなる。この状態では、ギヤ39が
ラック40と噛合しているので、カバー31は開放位置
に保持されることとなる。現像装置本体21を電子複写
機本体内の所期の位置に装着すると、現像ロール23の
軸24は図示しない伝達系を介して同じく図示しないモ
