Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable all the actions to be checked at one time by selecting paper feed means automatically in succession, and executing test prints. CONSTITUTION:When the first paper feed means 4 is selected, the first paper feed roller is rotated by the print instruction, and it is allowed to descend to feed papers. A latent image is developed, transferred, and fixed by the known electrophotographic method, and a copied paper is ejected to an output tray 3. The second paper feed means 5, and the third paper feed means are likewise treated. On the other hand, a photosensitive drum 1 is exposed to beams of a laser 10 by using a laser driver 11 to turn it on and off. Print information for turning on-off the laser generating circuit 10 is given from an external controller (a) or it is provided to the laser driver 11 from an internal pattern generator 13 through an OR circuit 12.

[Embodiment] Hereinafter, a preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 is a mechanical diagram schematically showing an electrophotographic printing apparatus having three paper feeding means. In FIG. 1, for example, when the first paper feeding means 4 is selected, the first paper feeding roller 7 rotates in response to a print command and descends to feed paper. ” W formed into two
The i-image is developed, transferred and fixed by a known electrophotographic method, and then discharged onto the output tray 3. Note that the same operation is performed for the second paper feeding means 5 and the third paper feeding means 6. On the other hand, exposure to the photosensitive drum 1 is carried out by turning on and off the light of the laser IO using a laser driver 11. Print information for turning on and off the laser generating circuit 10 is sent from an external controller (not shown). Alternatively, the signal is sent from the internal pattern generator 13 to the laser driver 11 through the OR circuit 12.

FIG. 2 is a block diagram of the paper feed selection circuit. In the figure, when the test switch 21 (the test switch 21 is provided, for example, on the operating section of the main body of the recording apparatus) is pressed, a signal is generated and sent to the control section 22.
A signal is sent to the sheet feeding means flag 23 from 2nd to 2nd, and its output becomes ゛1''.Next, electrophotographic printing is started and the paper feeding command signal 25 is sent to the AND circuit 24゛2.
Sent on 8.31. Since the AND circuit 24 receives the signal from the first paper feeding means flag 23, its output becomes 1'' and is manually input to the first paper feeding roller drive circuit 26. Therefore, the first paper feed roller 7 shown in FIG. 1 is driven to feed paper. When one page has been printed, the control unit 22 then sets the first paper feeding means flag 23.
The output of the paper feed command signal 25 is set to °'0', and the output of the second paper feed means flag 27 is set to °'l'.The print sequence is then started, and the output of the paper feed command signal 25 is set to °'1'1'. Since the output of the second sheet feeding means flag 27 is input to one input terminal of the AND circuit 28, the output of the AND circuit 28 becomes l”°, and the second is input to the paper feed roller drive circuit 29 of The second paper feed roller 8 shown in FIG. 1 is driven by the output of the second paper feed roller drive circuit 29, and paper is fed from the second paper feed means 5 and printing is performed. Next, control section 2
2 sets the output of the second paper feeding means flag 27 to "o" and sets the output of the third paper feeding means flag 3o to 1'°. Next, the print sequence will start and “i”

Since the output of the third paper feed means flag 30 is input to one input terminal of the AND circuit 31, the output of the AND circuit 31 becomes 1°' and is input to the third paper feed roller drive circuit 32. Ru. The third paper feed roller 9 is driven by the output of the thirteen paper feed roller drive circuits 32, and the third paper feed roller 9 is driven by the output of the thirteen paper feed roller drive circuits 32.
Paper is fed from there and printing is performed. When the 2-test switch 21 is pressed as described in 2 below, sheets are sequentially fed from each sheet feeding means and printing is performed. On the other hand, at the same time as the test switch 21 is pressed down, an activation signal is sent to the internal pattern generator 13 from the control section. This signal passes through the OR circuit 12 shown in FIG. 1 and is input to the laser driver II. Here, the laser generating circuit 1o is turned on and off, and the photosensitive tram 1 is exposed.

By the way, it is assumed that the control section 22 shown in FIG. 2 is composed of, for example, a microprocessor. The human power port of the microprocessor has a test switch 21, the output port has an internal pattern generator 13, a paper feeding command signal 25, a first paper feeding means flag 23, a paper feeding means flag 27 of the tfS2,
By connecting the third paper feeding means flag 30, a circuit having the above-mentioned functions can be easily configured.

FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing an example of control by a microprocessor. The microprocessor controls the entire printer sequence, and the device is normally driven by a main control routine. The test routine is branched from the main routine as a subroutine, and the sequence after this branch is shown in a flowchart. If the test switch is pressed here, the test routine is executed by the sense command of the test switch.

Next, control by the microprocessor will be explained with reference to this flowchart. First, if the test switch is pressed in step S1, the process advances to step S2, and the paper feeding means flag 23 of M1 is set. Next, in step S3, a print sequence based on a known electrophotographic method is executed, and the internal pattern generator 13 is turned on. During this time, in step S4, the paper feed command signal 25 is set to "1" for a certain period of time. After determining the end of printing on one sheet in step S5,
In step S6, the paper feeding means flag 23 of wlJl is reset. Next, the second paper feeding means flag 27 is set and the printout sequence is continued. Further, in step S8, the paper feed command signal 25 is set to 1 for a certain period of time, and then the process waits in step S9 until the printing of the autumnal equinox is completed. Then, the control is advanced to step SIO, and the second paper feeding means is activated. The flag 27 is reset and the third paper feeding means flag 30 is set.Similarly, the printout sequence is executed in step Sll, and after the paper feeding command signal 25 is set to "°l"° for a certain period of time in step S12. Wait until printing of one sheet is completed. When printing is completed, step 514
Then, the third paper feeding means flag 30 is reset, the internal pattern generator 13 is turned off, and the process returns to the main routine.

Although not shown in the flowchart, for example, if there is no paper in the second paper feeding means 5, the test print will stop at that step. Therefore, if there is no paper in the paper source,
Skip and proceed to the next paper source. Furthermore, although the number of sheets of paper in each test print was one, it is also possible to print a plurality of sheets at a time, or to repeat printing one sheet at a time a plurality of times. Furthermore, the test image signal may be generated from an external controller instead of the internal pattern generator.

[Effects] As mentioned in E, according to the present invention, the printing condition of the recording material from each paper feeding means can be tested in one test print, so that the printer can be completely checked. Furthermore, since the internal pattern is generated by pressing the TES switch, it is possible to completely check the operation of the printer without sending an image signal from the host.
