Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable sodium leaking out from the emission tube to be detected by installing a solid electrolyte and sulfur near the emission tube to form a battery where sodium leaking out from the emission tube acts as a cathode and the sulfur acts as an anode and driving an alarm installed in a high pressure sodium lamp by means of the thus formed battery. CONSTITUTION:A disk-like cap 10 is used which is prepared from a solid electrolyte which consists of a material such as beta alumina and has a piercing hole 11 and an annular groove 12 (which is located around the hole 11 and to which an emission tube 1 is to be attached). An anode 13 formed by impregnating a meshy graphite member with sulfur is installed around a cap 10. A sodium cathode electrode 14 is installed around the outer circumference of the annular groove 12. An alarm consisting of a sound transducer such as a piezoelectric buzzer or an emitter such as an emission diode is installed between the anode 13 and the cathode 14 through a connection wire. Sodium leaking from the emission tube acts as a cathode to form a sodium-sulfur battery between the anode 13 and the cathode 14 thereby producing electric power which drives the alarm.

In this way, the arc tube 1 of the lithium lamp is a ceramic tube, and the ceramic cap 6 and ceramic cement 9 are used to enclose the electrode 8 and seal W. As a result, a microcrank enters the sealed portion and the arc tube 1, and a phenomenon occurs in which the xenon gas and sodium contained in the arc tube leak into the outer tube 3. This phenomenon is called leakage, and if you continue to turn on the light with a leakage condition, the arc tube 1
As the sodium content in the lamp gradually decreases, the lamp voltage decreases. When the lamp voltage decreases, the lamp current increases, which has the disadvantage of causing burnout of the ballast that constitutes the external circuit.

Hereinafter, the present invention will be explained based on examples. FIG. 3 is a partial cross-sectional front view showing the essential parts of an embodiment of the present invention, which differs from the general high-pressure sodium lamp in that the ceramic cap 6 is replaced with the ceramic cap 6; As shown in the figure, a through hole 11 through which the electrode sealing metal 7 passes
A disk-shaped cap 10 made of a solid electrolyte such as β alumina is used, and has an annular groove 12 around the through hole 11 into which the arc tube 1 is fitted.
An anode 13 made of a graphite mesh impregnated with sulfur is formed on the outer periphery of the annular groove 12, and an electrode 14 for a sodium cathode is formed along the outer periphery side wall of the annular groove 12. Incidentally, the arc tube 1 and the cap 10 and the cap 10 and the electrode sealing metal 7 are made of ceramic cement 9 as in the conventional example.
It is sealed with.

Although not shown, there is a cap 5 inside the lamp (also inside the outer tube 3).
A display object consisting of a sounding body such as a piezoelectric buzzer, a light emitting body such as a light emitting diode, etc. is disposed between the anode 13 and the cathode 14 via a connecting wire. The preferred mounting location is at the top of the lamp, which is the darkest part of the high-pressure sodium lamps.

Then, when sodium leaks from arc tube 1,
According to the following principle, a sodium-sulfur battery is formed between the anode 13 and the cathode 14 using the leaked thorium as the cathode to generate electricity, and a battery is connected between the anode 13 and the cathode 14 via a connecting wire. A current is supplied to the displayed object, and the displayed object is driven. Therefore, sodium leakage can be detected by driving the display, and it is possible to know when it is time to replace the lamp.

(Effects of the Invention) As described above, the present invention provides a solid electrolyte and sulfur in the vicinity of the arc tube disposed inside the outer bulb, and uses the sodium leaked from the arc tube as the cathode and the sulfur as the anode. By forming a battery and driving an indicator placed inside the lamp with the battery, it is possible to detect a sodium leak, and if the lamp is replaced at this point, the ballast that makes up the external circuit will burn out. This has the effect of avoiding such dangers in advance.
