小幅部と大幅部が、それぞれほぼ等幅の光学的に検出さ
れない部分を対にし−て、片側に隣接する形状とし、光
学的に検出された前記小幅部と大幅部の間の光学的に検
出されない部分が、小幅部と大幅部のいずれの幅に近い
か又は等しいかを判別することにより、前記回転体の回
転方向を判別する判別手段を設けてなる回転検出装置。
