熱型接着剤を予め塗布しておき、後からアイロン等によ
り端部のみを接着する方法がとられているが、襖紙の全
面に接着剤を塗布する為接着剤のムダも多く、襖紙とし
て高価なものとなっていた。又、感熱型接着剤を塗布し
、襖紙に加工する工程上の制約から、巻取状態で製造さ
れた襖紙にしか加工できず、手抄きや手書き等の特殊な
手法によって製造された襖紙には対応できなかった。
