変速機のシフトポジションを選択すべ（車両の前後方向
に揺動可能なシフトレバ−と、該シフトレバ−内に上下
に移動可能に収容され下端にはロックピンを一体的に備
えるロックピンロッドと、前記シフトレバ−の揺動動作
を阻止すべく前記ロックピンに保合可能に配設されたデ
ィテントプレートと、前記ロックピンをディテントプレ
ートに係合する方向にロックピンロッドを付勢するばね
と、該ばねのばね力に抗して前記ロックピンのディテン
トプレートへの係合状態を解除すべくシフトレバ−の上
部に配設されるロック解除ノブとを備える自動変速機用
変速操作装置において、前記ディテントプレートは、ロ
ックピンロッドの上方への引上げ作動に応じてロックピ
ンとの保合を解除すべく形成され、前記ロック解除ノブ
は、車両の前後方向に沿うシフトレバ−の前部でシフト
レバ−内への押込み動作可能に配設され、前記ロック解
除ノブおよびロックピンロッド間は、前記ロック解除ノ
ブの押込み動作に応じてロックピンロッドを引上げ作動
すべく連結されることを特徴とする自動変速機用変速操
