Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve reduction of weight, uniformity and durability of the captioned tire by using, a ply made of knitted cloth in which parallel warps are formed by a knitting yarn of thin fibre, as a reinforcing material in a pneumatic tire in which knitted cloth carcass is used. CONSTITUTION:Parallelly arranged warps 3 are formed in a knitted cloth 1 with fine knitting yarns 5 and 6 such as nylon 6 of 5-50 denier and which are adhesive to rubber. After adhesion treatment and heat treatment are applied to this knitted cloth 1, topping rubber treatment is applied, and it is buried in the rubber, and thus it is made as a reinforcing material. Therefore, reduction of weight, uniformity and durability can be improved.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a reinforcing material for a pneumatic tire, particularly to a pneumatic tire using a knitted fabric as the carcass.

Generally, the carcass of a pneumatic tire is made of a fabric in which tire cords, which serve as reinforcing elements, are arranged as warp threads, and the weft threads, which are thinner than the warp threads, are loosely woven to maintain the spacing between the warp threads.

This blind fabric is woven by alternately opening the warp threads, driving the weft threads in with a shuttle, beating the cloth, then opening the warp threads upside down and driving the weft threads in again.

To manufacture, for example, a bias tire using a blind fabric, the blind fabric is cut at an angle of 20° to 70° with respect to the warp arrangement direction, and the pieces are joined together to form a ply. A cylindrical carcass is assembled on a drum using at least two sheets of the above drum so that the warp threads intersect with each other, and then a toroidal tire is formed.

In these various steps, the warp and weft are not sufficiently fixed, so the warp tends to move, resulting in uneven end distribution, which impairs tire durability. In addition, due to the structure of blind textiles, the warp yarns are wavy, resulting in a so-called "tatami matome" shape, which increases the thickness of the textile itself, and as a result, it is necessary to increase the thickness of the topping rubber to prevent the cords from touching each other. This is disadvantageous in terms of reducing the weight of the tire. Furthermore, since the blind fabric is an eA weave with openings, its production capacity is limited, and it is necessary to select a material that prevents the weft and warp from slipping, making it difficult to use long fibers for the weft.

The present invention solves these problems at once, and proposes lightweight, uniform, and durable pneumatic tires, such as tires for passenger cars, light trucks, trucks, as well as light vehicles such as motorcycles, bicycles, and low-pressure tires. It is something to do.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a schematic diagram of the surface of silk cloth used in the pneumatic tire of the present invention. In the figure, the knitted fabric (1) is warp (
3) are arranged parallel to each other, and these warps are knitted with a plurality of fine fiber knitting yarns (5) and (6) along the longitudinal direction of the warp, thereby integrating the warp yarns and forming a knitted fabric. . The knitting method here can be a conventionally widely used method such as warp stockinette knitting or horizontal stockinette knitting.

Next, the silk thread used in the present invention may be made of any material that can sufficiently withstand general adhesive treatment and heat treatment conditions in tire manufacturing processes, and preferably can adhere to rubber after treatment, such as nylon-6, nylon-66, etc. A filament of an organic fiber such as polyester or the like with a fiber diameter of 5 to 50 deniers is used. Here, the filament diameter is 5
If it is smaller than the denier, the fixing strength between the warp and weft is not sufficient. On the other hand, if the filament diameter exceeds 50 deniers, the thickness of the knitted fabric increases, resulting in an increase in ply gauge, which is disadvantageous from the viewpoint of weight reduction, and furthermore, durability decreases due to rubbing between the silk thread and the warp thread.

The knitted fabric obtained in this way has a high elongation in the width direction, that is, in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the warp, for example, 1210% or more, and through processing steps such as topping and cutting of the knitted fabric, The warp threads maintain a uniform spacing. In particular, when this knitted fabric is used as a carcass (when used), the warp yarns are uniformly 1vIlli in length during the process of forming the carcass ply into a troid shape, resulting in excellent uniformity of the finished tire and a smooth surface of the tire. The uneven surface is alleviated and the durability (even more improved).
