Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent interception of a key telephone set by the 3rd party not knowing a password number by setting the inhibition of use of a key telephone set and releasing it with a series of key operations including the password number. CONSTITUTION:In inhibiting the use of a key telephone set TK, an operator depresses the operation inhibit set key 9 at first and the password number of the key telephone set TK by using a dial key 8 succeedingly. Through the operation, the key telephone set TK transmits an operation inhibition set signal and an inputted password number to a control section 3 via a telephone interface section 6, where the password number to the key telephone set TK stored in the password number storage section 2 and the inputted password number are compared. When the both are coincident, a channel switch 7 is controlled to set the key telephone set TK in the state not connected to a main wire and control the connection with respect to the key telephone set TK, then the change in the stored content is inhibited.
