Abstract

PURPOSE:To suppress greatly the vibrations due to the air flow of a head support system to reduce read/write errors and to attain easily a disk device having high recording density, by providing a current plate at the downstream side of the head support system which is used for access to an information record disk. CONSTITUTION:A current plate 8 is provided at the downstream side of a head support system, and therefore an almost clean laminar flow state is obtained with a low flowing speed at a region A of the upstream side of the plate 8. While a turbulent flow state is produced with a comparatively high flowing speed at a region A of the downstream side of the plate 8. In general the fluid power is proportional to a square of flowing speed. Therefore the exciting force is greatly reduced with a low flowing speed. In other works, the vibration suppressing effect is improved with reduced read/write errors.

体1に取付けられている。アクセス機構3はモータ4と
、モータ4の出力軸に取付けられたアーム5と、ジンバ
ル6と、ヘッドを取付けたスライダ7とから成る。アー
ム5と、ジンバル6と、スライダ7とはヘッド支持系を
構成している。ヘッド支持系の下流側に整流板8が取付
けられている。整流板8は磁気ディスクの枚数だけ有し
、第3図に示す如き櫛形7II造をなしている。

均流速の測定結果を示す。)のに対し、整流板8の下流
側の領域Bでは、かなり乱れの多い乱流で且つ流速もか
なり大きい(第5図参照)ことが判った。

なる。つまり、振動抑制効果を向上させることが出来、
読取り、書込みエラーも少なくなる。その効果は高記録
、密度の場合に有効に効いて来るので、そのような装置
に有用性を与える。なお、こ\で流速はグイスフ間流速
であり、スライダを浮上させているディスクのごく近傍
の流れには殆んど影響しないためスライダ浮上特性に関
しては通常とまったく異なるところはない。
