Abstract

PURPOSE:To prepare a composite wire-shaped additive for steel having a Ca- coating layer around the Al core material thereof in good productivity, by a method wherein a Ca-powder is put in a die box under a pressurized state and the Al core material is passed through the nipple and the die part of the die box. CONSTITUTION:In preparing a composite linear additive by applying a Ca-layer to the periphery of an Al core material for aiming the acidification and the desulfurization of molten steel, a die box 12 is filled with a Ca-powder 11 under a pressurized state and the Al core material 13 is passed through the nipple 14 and the die part 15 of the die box. In passing the die part 15, the Ca-powder 11 is applied to the periphery of the Al core material 13 by extrusion molding. When the ratio of Al and Ca is changed, the diameter of the Al core material is changed. The composite wire-shaped additive 16 for steel with stable quality can be produced in excellent productivity.

The linear additive for steel is a linear additive made of calcium or a mixture of calcium and aluminum wrapped around an iron tape. These additives are manufactured by, for example, pressurizing and extruding powders of calcium or calcium and aluminum to form linear bodies and core wires, and then wrapping iron tape around the wires.

There is no particular problem in the case of a core made of calcium alone, but depending on the purpose of the additive, a mixture of calcium and aluminum may be necessary, but in this case, the following problems arise when using the conventional method. It arises.

In other words, when extruding a mixture of aluminum, galcium, and aluminum, the surface quality will be poor unless the particle size of each is selected appropriately. Further, since aluminum has a relatively high deformation resistance, when precipitation is attempted at a high speed, the heat of deformation becomes large, and there is a risk that calcium will ignite. Furthermore, since the extruded linear body has low strength, when the linear body is continuously wound, it must be wound with low tension and synchronized with the extrusion speed. Furthermore, although the mixing ratio of aluminum and calcium varies depending on the application, there is a problem in that a mixed powder with a specific ratio of aluminum and calcium must be prepared in advance when switching.

To produce the linear additive for steel of the present invention, calcium is coated around an aluminum core wire by extrusion, and for this purpose, for example, the gp'r method is used. In this case, calcium powder is supplied under pressure to a die box, passes through the nipple of the die box, coats the aluminum core wire that is continuously supplied, and extrudes a coating having an outer diameter shaped by the die. Shape. The composition ratio of calcium and aluminum can be changed by changing the wire diameter of the aluminum-ram core wire.
