Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent wrong feed of paper sheets due to poor engagement of an electromagnetic clutch, by a method wherein a normally reversely turning motor is employed in a sheet-holding plate pushing-up type paper sheet feeder, and power is trasmitted to a paper sheet feed roller and a sheet-holding plate moving means during normal and reverse rotation, respectively. CONSTITUTION:According to a paper sheet feed instruction, a normally/reversely turning motor 9 turns clockwise, and the effect of rotation cam is transmitted through a belt 10 and gears 6-8 to a paper sheet feed shaft 2. This results in engagement of one-way clutch in each of paper sheet feed rollers 3 to turn the rollers 3, and the paper sheets are fed, one by one, from the upper-most paper sheet. When a paper sheet feed position is levelled down, lowering of the paper sheet feed shaft 2 is detected by a photo sensor 16 to output a reversing signal, by means of which a motor 9 is driven reversely. The rotary force of the motor 9 is transmitted to a lever 14 through a drive shaft 11 and gears 12 and 13, and a lever 18 is turned clockwise to lift upward a paper sheet holding plate 17. Thus, a paper sheet feeding position is levelled up. As noted above, no electromagnetic clutch is employed, and this can prevent the occurrence of poor driving of the paper sheet feed roller and the sheet holding plate due to poor engagement and erroneously following turn of the clutch.
