Its practical application is rapidly progressing because of its high speed and relatively high speed. Such magnetic bubble utilization devices require various functions such as generating, transferring, dividing, enlarging, detecting, and erasing magnetic bubbles. Among these functional units, the present invention particularly relates to a magnetic bubble transfer pattern for propagating magnetic bubbles.
A common method for driving magnetic bubbles is to use a rotating magnetic field and a soft magnetic pattern such as permalloy formed on the surface of a magnetic bubble chip.

It is.
The rotating magnetic field is obtained by passing sine wave currents, triangular wave currents, trapezoidal wave currents, etc. having phases different by 90 degrees through the X coil and Y coil arranged orthogonally to each other. The magnetic bubbles propagate along the permalloy pattern as the rotating magnetic field rotates, and when the rotating magnetic field stops, the magnetic bubbles also come to rest at the corresponding locations. As mentioned above, T-bar patterns or chevron patterns are commonly used as magnetic bubble transfer patterns, but when these patterns are formed on a crystal, the gaps between the patterns (hereinafter referred to as pattern gaps) are Approximately 1/ of bubble diameter

On the other hand, a gap-tolerant pattern was developed as a transfer pattern that can have a relatively large pattern gap.
As described later, in a gear-up tolerant pattern, the potential well changes slowly within the pattern, especially in recent years where the start and stop of a rotating magnetic field is frequently repeatedly controlled in response to information writing/reading and shift operations. In a magnetic bubble device, this pattern is likely to cause malfunctions during start/stop operations of the magnetic bubble.

。In the figure, 1 is a deformed Sipron pattern made of permalloy or the like formed by vapor deposition or the like on a magnetic bubble crystal;
Reference numeral 2 indicates a pattern gap, and reference numeral 3 indicates a magnetic bubble, which is shown in a stretched state in the pattern gap. As can be seen from the figure, the modified chevron pattern of the present invention is a conventional chevron-shaped so-called chevron pattern with protrusions A, A, and C added to both ends and the middle, respectively.
The other numbers in the figure indicate the dimensional ratio of each part to the magnetic bubble diameter, and d represents the magnetic bubble diameter. In addition, the pattern gap 2 is 2/2 of the magnetic bubble diameter d.
It is set to 3. FIG. 2 is an operating margin characteristic curve diagram for comparing the operating margin of the magnetic bubble transfer pattern of the present invention with that of a conventional T-bar transfer pattern.

Curve 5 shows the operating margin characteristic when the modified apron pattern of the present invention with a pattern gap of 2 [μm] is used. The diameter of the magnetic bubble used in both transfer patterns was 3.
[μm]. As can be seen from the figure, the operating margins of both patterns are comparable, and although the pattern gap is approximately twice as wide as that of the T-bar transfer pattern, the modified chevron pattern of the present invention has an equivalent operating margin. Being able to widen the pattern gap without narrowing the operating margin is extremely advantageous in pattern formation. FIG. 3 shows the phase dependence of the potential well of the modified Sipron pattern of the present invention in comparison with that of a half-disc pattern, which has also been recently announced as a gap-tolerant pattern.

The potential wells of the apron pattern are shown respectively. The potential well depth is a value that is a guideline for indicating the size of the trap that holds the magnetic bubble, and a large potential well indicates that the magnetic bubble is stable under the pattern.
Also, the vertical axis is the potential weld eps P. W. D is the demagnetizing field HcOl. of the magnetic bubble in the free state.
The extinction and demagnetization field of a magnetic bubble under a permalloy pattern with a constant magnitude of in-plane magnetic field (approximately 30C0e) applied to HcOl. It is a scale that expresses the ratio of What can be seen from this figure is that in the half-disk pattern shown by curve 6, the potential well drops significantly near the rotation angle of 180 degrees, whereas in the modified seapron pattern of the present invention, the potential well drops around the rotation angle of 180 degrees. Since there is a cop that rises steeply again, the magnetic bubble exhibits even more stable behavior.

In particular, the fact that there is little phase dependence in the equipment used for magnetic bubbles, which are frequently subjected to start/stop control, means that there is no need to consider phase dependence when controlling or designing the drive circuit that starts and stops the rotating magnetic field. The burden is reduced.

A stable magnetic bubble transfer pattern over a wide range of motion can be realized.
