Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a flame trap and an air-cleaner element from being directly exposed to back-fires to aim at enhancing the life and durability of an air- intake device, by connecting an air-cleaner with a fuel supply device through a connecting pipe, and by forming a suction port in the air-cleaner, substantially perpendicularly to the surface of the flame trap. CONSTITUTION:Air taken from a suction part 13b is purified through an element 15, and is fed through a guide pipe 19 to a large volume chamber 17 from which air is fed to a carburettor 11. When a blow-back is brought about, the blow- back reversely flows into the air-cleaner 12 to which the chamber 17 is communicated, but does not directly touch a flame trap 16 and the purifying surface of an element 15 when it flows into the guide pipe 19 since the opening part 19d of the guide pipe 19 is substantially orthogonal to the flame trap 16 and the purifying surface of the element 15.
