Abstract

PURPOSE:To replace a developing device easily and quickly in case of the change of hue, by storing a developing device for replacement in a storing chamber of a device body freely attachably and detachably so that the developer supply hole is turned up. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 2, a corona discharger, a developing device 5, and a cleaning device 7 are supported as one body in a box body 8 to constitute a process kit, and the process kit is provided freely attachably to and detachably from the device body through guide rails 91'' and 92''. Developing devices having different hues are stored in a storing chamber 22 so that their developer supply holes 5a are turned up. In case of the change of hue, the process kit is pulled out, and the developing device 5 of the storing chamber 22 is set to a prescribed position, and the developing action is performed immediately. Therefore, the replacing work is performed easily and quickly.

Not only electrophotographic copying devices, but all image forming devices are capable of producing various tones (although not perfect colors).
For example, it is desired to be able to easily and easily create images of a single color (black, red, evening, etc.) as desired. In view of these circumstances, attempts have been made to make it possible to replace only an image forming process kit in an image forming apparatus or a part of the components thereof as necessary. However, replacement components or process kits must be handled with care. In other words, if a device is equipped with a developer storage section, it will not be possible to quickly replace the developer unless loss of developer due to leakage, contamination, and uneven distribution within the storage section are prevented. Even during formation, stirring of the developer takes time and cannot be carried out quickly.
