Abstract

PURPOSE:To thin each part of a tie wire located between blades so as to reduce the centrifugal stress by sleeving said part of the tie wire which passes through a blade and welding the sleeve to the tie wire. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 4 is fit to each part at which a tie wire 3 passes through a blade 1 and then welded to the tie wire 3. Thus, the tie wire 3 may gain larger thickness at only the part which passes through the blade.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Vibrations are likely to occur in the rotor blades of turbomachines, especially when the blade length becomes large. Since this vibration is of course harmful, conventionally a vibration damping method is often used in which the blades are connected across the blade cascade using tie wires as shown in the perspective view of FIG. In the figure, 1 is the rotor blade, 2
6 is a tie wire through hole, and 6 is a tie wire. Since the vibration damping effect of the tie wire is due to the friction between the blade 1 and the tie wire 3, the second measure against wear and tear of the tie wire is
As shown in the figure, a tie wire having a shape in which only the penetrating portion 3a of the wire 3 through the hole 2 is thick and the inter-blade portion 3b is sufficiently thin to prevent an increase in centrifugal force is disclosed in Patent No. 53-119773 (JP 57
-44705). However, manufacturing such a wire having alternating thick and thin portions is an expensive process. Therefore, in the present invention, as shown in FIG. 3, the tie wire is constructed such that a sleeve 4 is fitted onto a thin wire 3 at the portion through which the blade passes, and this is welded 5 to the wire 3. Alternatively, a sleeve 6 is welded 7 to the wing as shown in FIG. 4 in the hole in the wing for the tie wire 3, and the tie wire 3 is passed through the sleeve 6.

In the case of the one in Fig. 3, it is possible to obtain the same effect as the one in Fig. 2 without requiring the trouble of manufacturing the tie wire in the one in Fig. 2, and in the case of the one in Fig. 4, the contact area between the tie wire and the vibrating part. The increased .DELTA. is helpful in distributing stress and wear on the tie wires and also in preventing wing cranking resulting from the wing holes.
