Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable reliable feeding of copying sheets being different in thickness, by bringing the upper end surface of an elastic member into press contact with a sheet retaining part. CONSTITUTION:Each of holder arms 2, vertically rockably mounted to both inner surfaces of a cassette body 9, is provided at its forward end with a sheet retaining part 2a and an elastic member 4 which is elastically deformed by collision with copying sheet 1 fed out by rotation of convey roll 7 to form a gap, through which one conveying sheet 1 is capable of passing, between the elastic member and the sheet retaining part 2a, upper end surface 4c of the elastic member 4 being brought into press contact with the sheet retaining part 2a. This enables very thick copying sheets, such as postcards, bood cards, etc., to be reliabley fed out one by one without damaging them.

However, in the case of extremely thick paper such as official postcards and book carts, the paper is buckled using a corner claw.
In order to separate and feed only the topmost sheet of paper, a large feeding force is required, making it difficult to actually use corner claws.

In other words, the paper holding part 2α is a thin plate-like body that is continuous with the upper end surface 2' of the holding arm 2, bent inward, and extends to the tip end surface l. The elastic member 4 has a seeding hole 4α into which the elastic member mounting portion 2b is press-fitted, and an upper end cavity 4h, and has an upper end surface 4Cn circular shape. It is curved in an arc shape and is attached by press-fitting the attachment hole 4α into the elastic member attachment portion 2b, and the upper end surface 4C is pressed against the lower surface of the paper holding portion 2α and is instead deformed, and the elastic member 4 is made of urethane rubber. It may be made of a material that has a high coefficient of friction against the copy paper 1, such as, or a material that causes elastic deflection.

begins to rotate, and the uppermost copy sheet 1 is conveyed to the elastic member 4.
However, due to the feeding force of the copy paper 1 and the stiffness of the copy paper I, the elastic member 4 flexes and the upper end surface 4 of the elastic member 4 is bent.
A gap is created between C and the paper holding portion 2α. When this gap reaches a size necessary for one sheet to pass through, the copy paper 1 is sent out from this gap.

At this time, if the second and subsequent copy sheets 1 from the top are fed at the same time, the second and subsequent copy sheets will hit the elastic member 4 and be stopped by the frictional resistance between the elastic member 4 and the paper 1. It will not be double fed and go out of the cassette.

! ! Note that since the upper end surface 4C of the elastic member 4 is in pressure contact with the paper pressing portion 2a, double feeding can be reliably prevented even if the thickness of the copy paper 1 is uneven.

Further, according to the embodiment, the elastic member 4 has an upper end side cavity 4bf.
Since the upper end surface 4C is curved in an arc shape, the variation in the contact pressure applied to the paper holding part 2α of the elastic member 4 can be reduced even if the dimensions are not adjusted when the parts are attached, and the contact pressure is optimal. The upper end surface 4C can be brought into pressure contact with the paper holding part 2a, and the contact area of the upper end surface 4C can be increased to improve the paper sorting effect, so double feeding can be reliably prevented.

The elastic member 4 may have a triangular cross-sectional shape that becomes thinner toward the tip as shown in FIG.
The elastic member 4 may be fixed to the elastic member mounting portion 2b by adhesively fixing it with a screw 1 adhesive as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8.
