Conventionally, this type of cover glass is a four-sided frame member made by putting powdered glass material in a mold, pressing it, and firing it around one side of a flat glass plate cut to fit the size of the display part of the instrument or display device used. However, manufacturing the four-side surrounding frame member using the powdered glass material and mold as described above requires skill, is not suitable for mass production, and is difficult to ensure dimensional accuracy. In order to solve this problem, the side edges of the glass sheets with a width that matches the length of the four sides of the display section are bonded together using a glass adhesive (for example, frit) to form the desired four-side frame member. The plan was to construct a hollow rectangular tube of glass with end faces of a certain size, cut it into multiple pieces of constant width (so-called round cuts) using a high-speed diamond cutter, and mass-produce four-sided frame members.
For this reason, there is an urgent need to supply hollow rectangular tubes made of precisely bonded glass plates on the four sides, which are the materials for the four-sided frame members.

In the present invention, as described above, the side wall plate 4 having the engaging vertical grooves 2, 2 provided at both ends of the inner surface 3 is fixed to both sides of the rectangular bottom plate 1 to form the end-faced main body 6. Both ends of the guide-cum-end plate 9 are slidably engaged with the opposing vertical engagement grooves 2 on both ends of the inner surface 3 of the side wall plates 4 on both sides of the main body 6, and the guide-cum-end plate 9 is slidably engaged. Two guide vertical grooves 1.1 are provided on the inner surface 10 of the main body 6, which are located inwardly from the inner surfaces 3 of the side wall plates 4 on both sides, while a guide-cum-end plate 9 is provided at both ends of the main body 6. cover plate 1
3, and the fitting convex portions 12 provided on the lower surface of the cover plate 13 are configured to fit freely in and out of the space between the side wall plates 4 on both sides of the main body 6. The inner surface 3 of the side wall plate 4 of
The guide-cum-end plate 9 is freely engaged with the engaging vertical grooves 2 at both ends of the plate, and the first glass flat plate is placed on the bottom plate 1 of the main body 6 between the guide-cum-end plate 9, 9. a', and 1. on the top surface of both side edges of the glass flat plate a'. As shown in FIG. 7, it is formed slightly longer than the glass flat plate a', and both ends serve as guide and end plates 9.
Plate glass a fitted in the guide longitudinal groove 11 and supported vertically
A second glass flat plate a'' which is formed to have the same size as the first glass flat plate a' and whose lower edges are in contact with each other, is attached to the side wall plates 4, 4 of the main body 6.
By placing the lower surfaces of both side edges of the glass flat plate a'' in contact with the upper edge of the glass plate a, the both side edges of the first glass flat plate a' and the second glass flat plate a'' are connected. A hollow rectangular tube of glass connected by plate glass a can be quickly formed, and the fitting convex portion 12 of the lid plate 13 fitted between the side wall plates 4 and 4 is brought into contact with the second glass flat plate a''. By doing so, it is possible to firmly maintain the shape of a hollow rectangular tube in which the side edges of the first glass flat plate a', the second glass flat plate a'' and the hollow rectangular tube a are joined to each other.

Therefore, a glass adhesive (for example, frit) is applied to the upper and lower edges of the glass plate a, and the first glass plate a', the second glass plate a'', and the glass plates on both sides are formed into a hollow rectangular cylinder shape as described above. By temporarily holding the side edges of a together, a hollow rectangular tube in which the glass plates are integrally joined can be easily and quickly manufactured without requiring any skill.

Therefore, after the time necessary for the glass adhesive to solidify as described above, the hollow rectangular tube can be taken out smoothly and safely by removing the guide/end plate 9 and pushing it out along the floor plate 1. It can be done.

In addition, as shown in the embodiment of the present invention, above and below the inner surface 3 of the side wall plate 4 of the main body 6, the side edge of the first glass flat plate a', the lower edge of the plate glass a, the upper edge of the plate glass a and the second glass plate are formed. flat plate a
By providing the lower horizontal grooves 7 and the upper horizontal grooves 8 at the joints between the side edges of ``, there is no danger of the protruding glass adhesive being unnecessarily stuck to the inner surface 3 of the side wall plate 4. In addition, if the side wall plates 4 are attached to both sides of the bottom plate 1 using screws 5, they can be easily disassembled by removing the screws 5 when not in use, and can be bundled compactly to save space. It is even more convenient to store.
