Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a titled air-vent mechanism capable of preparing air-venting operation by constituting said mechanism wherein a check valve is opened and closed by moving a moving body of the check valve connected to a fluid hole in an arbor through the working part of an air-vent plug. CONSTITUTION:An air-vent mechanism 8 attached to the end part at the opposite side of a rotary joint of a variable crown roll, is constituted of a check valve 10 and an air-vent plug 11, and a moving body 16 is disposed at a guide hole 13 in a cylinder 15 of the valve 10 to blockade a valve hole 12 with the aid of a valve body 19 by an energized spring 23; on the other hand, a working part 17 for moving said body 16, and air-vent holes which penetrate the main body of plug, are provided to the air-vent plug 11 to be attached to a roll arbor 7 through a screw 29. The moving body 16 is moved to the right side through a driven axis 18, to release the valve hole 12 and introduce the air staying in the fluid hole 6 to a communicating space 30 through communicating holes 20, 21 and the guide hole 13, thereby discharging the air to a recessed part 9 at the roll-end part through the air-vent holes of plug 11.
