The latter is stable in operation and has a long lifespan, but has the drawback of being complicated and expensive. In order to eliminate these drawbacks, the present invention has a simple structure in which semiconductor elements such as transistors constituting the drive circuit are arranged in parallel with respect to the drive power supply and are sequentially switched according to the magnitude of the input voltage. , its purpose is low-cost IC
The aim is to achieve this goal.

16 to 110 are the base currents of the transistors, R1 to R
5 is a collector current limiting resistor, which is a constant that determines 1 to 15 and controls the brightness of a light emitting diode LED, a lamp, etc. R6~RIO are base current limiting resistors, D1~
D4 is a silicon diode for sequentially dropping input signals. VBE1 to VBE5 are the base-emitter forward voltages of transistors Q1 to Q5, respectively, and VF1 to
VF4 represents the respective drop voltages at the diodes D1 to D4, and is generally determined from the V-I characteristics of the diodes as shown in FIG. The operation will be explained according to this embodiment.

に応用することができる。First, the ground terminal 2 is connected to the ground, and the input terminal 1 is supplied with the power supply voltage Vcc. At this time, since the signal input terminal 3 is open, the base currents 16 to 110 of the transistors Q1 to Q5 do not flow, so the collector current 11
~Step 5 also does not flow, so the light emitting diodes LED1~LE
D5 doesn't light up either. Next, when a sawtooth wave voltage Ell as shown in FIG. 2 is input to the signal input terminal 3, the voltage E1 becomes VBE due to the base-emitter characteristics of the transistor Q1.
4 (approximately O, 6V) (time tl in Figure 2), base current 16 flows through resistor R6, and transistor Q
1 turns on and the light emitting diode LEDI lights up. Next, when the voltage Ell rises above VF, +VBE (time in Figure 2), the base current 17 is passed through the resistor R7 in the same way.
flows, and the light emitting diode LED2 lights up. Similarly, the light emitting diodes LED3 and LED4 sequentially emit light, and finally, LED5 emits light. At this time, the signal voltage Ell is VFl+
VF2+VF3+VF4+VBE5, and LED5 lights up temporally last. As shown in Fig. 1, if the potentials of the collector parts of the silicon transistors Q1 to Q5 are respectively E and -E5, and the potentials before and after the silicon diodes D1 to D4 are respectively E6 to ElO, then the signal will be a sawtooth signal as shown in Fig. 2. E when inputting wave voltage Ell
The potentials of 6 to E and O become as shown in FIG. 4 with the passage of time. Also, FIG. 5 shows the potentials of E1 to E5,
The time during which the light emitting diodes LED1 to LED5 light up is illustrated. In the above embodiment, the case where there are five light emitting diodes was explained as an example, but even when there are five or more, the voltage E,
By appropriately selecting l, it is also possible to light up lamps other than light emitting diodes. As explained above, since the level is shifted by the forward voltage drop of the PN junction of the semiconductor element and the transistors are turned on in sequence, the operation is static and the operation is stable even in the presence of pulse-like noise. It can be applied to level display, direction display, and control.
