Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the phase margin of a device by changing over one or plural circuit constants among a cosine equalizing circuit, a differentiating circuit and a low pass filter at each magnetic head and magnetic disc units so as to change the frequency characteristic of a recording/reproducing circuit thereby correcting the variation in a reproduced waveform. CONSTITUTION:The recording/reproducing circuit of a magnetic disc device, as an example, consists of an automatic gain control circuit 1, the cosine equalizing circuit 2, the differentiating circuit 3, the low pass filters 4, 5, a peak sense circuit 6, and a magnetic head characteristic information signal (p) or the like. The magnetic head characteristic information signal (p) is a signal giving a preset optimum frequency characteristic, i.e., information being the circuit constant to each magnetic head, and in case of the fixed recording medium system, the information is recorded in advance in an interface circuit section with an external recording and reproducing circuit and obtained by a magnetic head selecting signal (b). In taking the cosine equalizing circuit as an example, it is possible to give the optimum frequency characteristic to the said head of the cosine equalizing circuit and to improve the reproduced waveform by changing the attenuation of the cosine equalizing circuit by means of the magnetic head characteristic information signal (p).

ック位置に応じた磁気記録密度の違い、周速の違い、並
びに磁気ヘッドの浮上量の違いに起因する再生波形のば
らつきが生じている。記録密度のあまり大きくない従来
の記録再生回路においては、その回路定数は固定型のも
