Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent leakage of gas inside a machine to the outside through the fittng faces of a flange by providing a groove for purging on the fitting face of the flange of a casing and introducing gas in the machine from said groove into a purge chamber or the like. CONSTITUTION:Grooves 5, 6 for purging are privided on respective fitting faces of horizontal flanges 3, 4 fixed in one body respectively with upper and lower casings 1, 2 of a turbo compressor or the like. Further, seal boxes 10, 11, shaped like rings divided in two, are fitted in the penetration part, for a shaft 30, of the casings 1, 2 linked to end parts of the horizontal flanges 3, 4, and a purging groove 12 communicating with the abovementioned grooves 5, 6 is provided on the fitting faces of the boxes 10, 11, and said groove 12 is further put in communication with a purging chamber 13. Furthermore, labyrinth packings 16-19 are provided between the seal boxes 10, 11 and the shaft 30. Thus, the gas leaked between the horizontal flanges 3, 4 is discharged in a safety zone outside the machine through the abovementioned grooves 5, 6, 12 and the purge chamber 13.

洩しないようになっている。しかし、何等かの原因で締
付力が緩/vだり、或いは上下フランジ3,4が変形し
たりすると、従来のものでは間中に機内ガスが1次外へ
漏洩することになり不都合である。

面になるようにし、水平フランジ4の端部に当り面を切
欠いてパージ用の満6を設け、水平7ランジ3には、第
3図に示すようにボルト9を挿通けしめるポル1〜孔7
を設け、水平フランジ4の溝5の部分にはタップ8を設
け、水平フランジ3.4をボルト9により強固に締結し
11するようにする。
