Abstract

PURPOSE:To attain a facsimile used for both original standstill type and original feeding type by providing a reading mechanism section to be able to move between the reading position of a standstill original and the reading position of a moving original. CONSTITUTION:The reading mechanism section 41 is reciprocated between positions 101 and 102 in order to sub-scan an original 2 placed on a contact glass 1 when the facsimile is used as the original standstill type facsimile. When the facsimile is used as the original feeding type facsimile, the original 8 is sandwiched between drive rollers 6, 6' and 7, 7' and inserted to the reading section 11 of reading guide plates 9, 9'. When a switch 12 detects the beginning end of the original 8, the reading mechanism section 41 is moved to the position 103 and held at this position.

Conventional facsimile machines insert a single-page original into the device, have a fixed reading and construction section, and move the original to perform sub-scanning. However, it is extremely difficult to solve the problem of document jams, and it is impossible to send thick document information electronically, such as in bookcases. In conventional facsimile machines, it is possible to electronically transmit long documents (for example, documents over 1 meter in length), but it is not possible to make copies. This is not possible with a stationary original machine configuration. Therefore, a facsimile machine has been proposed that can be used both by moving the original, as in the past, and by holding the original still and allowing it to be used in a trundle state.Conventional facsimile machines The first dual-function facsimile machine
There was something like the picture. In the figure, (1) is the contact glass on which the original is placed, (2) is the original, (3) is the original holder that presses the original from above, (4) is the reading mechanism, and this reading mechanism (4) Inside is a fluorescent lamp that illuminates the surface of the document, an image sensor that captures the document information, and a lens thread that transmits the document information to the image sensor.(5) is the reading mechanism section (4). It is a guide rail or guide rod for movement, and the reading mechanism section (4) is driven by a timing belt, a ball screw, a wire pulley, etc. (as shown in the figure). Or (
6), (6'), (7), (7') are rollers for expelling the original (8), and reading guide plates (9), (9').
) The document (8) inserted between the holes was read by a fixed iron removal mechanism 4. In this conventional device, each part of the document stationary type and the document feeding type must have a dedicated reading mechanism section L4), which not only makes the entire device expensive, but also requires only two It had the disadvantage that it was nothing more than a combination of several facsimile machines.

(102) is provided with a switch for stopping the reading 1) and the structure (6), respectively. In addition, when used as a document-fed facsimile, the document (8) is held between the drive rollers (6), (6, (7), (7') and read guide plates (9), (9'). , (9') is equipped with a switch 4 that detects the starting edge of the original (8), and when the switch @ detects the starting edge of the original (8), the reading mechanism section (4) detects the original stationary type. It overrides further to the left (in this figure) from the starting edge position (101) when used, and moves to the document feeding stop position (10
8), and the brake state is maintained. Therefore, only one reading mechanism is used in both the document feeding type and the document stationary type. The reading mechanism section 0 is driven by a motor (not shown) 2 on the guide rail (5). 1JjJL) is driven by a timing belt (not shown).
) The distance between (8) and the image sensor (not shown) in the reading mechanism section 0I is different between the original stationary type and the original feeding type because there is a contact glass (11) between them in the case of the original stationary type. The difference is made taking into account the refractive index of the glass.

According to the present invention, it is possible to reduce the number of image sensors in a relatively high single-panel size category by half, and the number of openings during adjustment during installation can be halved, thereby providing a high-quality, high-end facsimile machine at a low cost. It is possible.
