Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance the strength and the degree of freedom in design of a muffler by having the external shell thereof consist of a cylindrical body and a pair of side plates attached to the opposed open end, shaping the cylindrical body and the side plates out of aluminum and integrally forming both a tail cutter mounting flange and a stay on each of the side plates. CONSTITUTION:A muffler 1 has the external shell which is made up by a cylindrical body 2 and a pair of side plates 3 and 4 attached to the opposed side openings of the cylindrical body 2 by welding method. Those making up components are manufactured from casted aluminum. An engine-side exhaust pipe is connected to the side plate 3 and a flange 6 which surrounds a through-hole 5 serving for mounting the tail cutter 15 and a stay mounting seat 7 are integrally formed on the exhaust-side side plate 4.

跡があることから見苦しいものであった。

するものであり、以下図示の実施例に基いて本発明を詳
述すると第1図及び第2図は一実施例を示す。マフラー

付用フランジ(6)と車体へのステーを介しての取付用
のための取付座(7)とが設けられておシ、更にヂザイ
シ上のアクセントともなる冷却用のフィン(8)が一体
に形成されている。端板(3)には第5図にも示すよう
にエンジン(lO)側の排気管−が取付けられ、排出側
である端板(4)にはテールカッター(+5)が取付け
られるわけであるが、これら排気管04]及びテールカ
ッター05)の取付けは、端板+31 +41に一体に
設けられたねじ孔(9)を有する取付用フランジ+61
