削作業が長く中断して掘削効率が悪くなるという欠点が
あった。

摩耗検出方法で、かかる方法によると、カッタピットの
摩耗を正確に検出でき、従って従来のように先端超硬合
金の脱落を防止できるので、同一軌跡上の他のカッタピ
ットの損傷を防止でき、またあらかじめカッタピットの
摩耗度が判るため、地盤改良等の作業を準備しておくこ
とができるで、カッタピット取替作業時間の短縮化を図
ることができる。

取付しプられだリングギA77及びこのリングギヤ7に
噛合うピニオン8を介して回転駆動装置9に連動連結さ
れている。そして、上記カッタビット3は、第2図に示
すように、その先端部に超硬合金3aがろう付けされた
もので、またその内部には裏面から所定深さの穴10が
穿設されると共に、この穴10に内部に密閉空間11を
有するカプセル状の密閉容器12が挿入螺着されている
。そして、更に密閉容器12の密閉空間1・1内には一
対の電極13.13 =が挿入されており、またこの一
対の電極13.13−はカッタヘッド4内の電気配線1
4を介して制m盤15に接続されている。なお、第1図
中、16は回転端子、第2図中、17はカッタヘッド4
の面板4bに形成された土砂取込用スリットである。従
って、掘削中にカッタビット3が第2図仮想線で示すよ
うに摩耗して密閉容器12の一部が破損すると、密閉空
間11内に地下水が入り、一対の電極13.13 =同
志が導通7る。一対の電極13.13−同志が導通ずる
と、制御盤15上のインジケータランプが点灯して、カ
ッタビット3の摩耗が検出される。このように、カッタ
ビット3の摩耗が確実に検出できるので、早目に検出す
るようにしておけば、あらかじめカッタピット取替時に
必要な地盤改良作業の準備をすることができ、作業効率
が良(なる。なお、通常、カッタビット3はカッタヘッ
ド4に多数設けられており、上記密閉容器12は、その
うち適当な位置例えば最外周位置のカッタビット3に設
けられる。
