Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a spool loading device, which receives spools mechanically from a spool yarn with the aid of a spool holding head to feed them to a reel drum and is stowed under the ground for using its upper surface as an operation floor while its service is suspended. CONSTITUTION:A holding head 18 is lifted by a height (alpha) with the aid of a lifting device 24 to adjust the center of a holding arm 19 to the height of a reel drum 12, and an arm 40 of a feeding device 32 is turned to hold a spool 8 on a placing bed with the aid of the arm 19. Next, a coil car 6 is traveled, together with a spool loading dolly 28, by a distance (gamma) to the direction of a tension reel 10, and the head 18 is moved by a distance (beta) with the aid of a traversing device 26 to load the spool 8 to the drum 12. Thereafter, the arm 19 is released to return respective devices to the original positions, and the upper surface 20 of the head 18 is made to coincide with the height of the operation floor 22 to stow the device under the gound. In this way, the upper surface is used as the operation floor during the suspension of the operation of the device, thus the loading of spools can be efficiently performed in a narrow space.
