Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a diesel exhaust purification device having a better regeneration efficiency by continuously removing soot contained in the burnt gas so that clean and high temperature gas is supplied to the high temperature resistant filter. CONSTITUTION:Carbon particles contained in the exhaust gas from an engine E pass through a thermal catalytic filter 1 having a relatively small clogging, and flow into a downstream filter 2 with carbon particles left behind which are large enough to be trapped by the thermal catalyst. The downstream filter 2 traps fine particles which have passed through the upstream thermal catalytic filter. When the downstream filter 2 is detected to be clogged, a burner 3 is ignited to reactivate the filter. The combustible gas generated by the burner contains soft carbon. The soft carbon and larger carbon particles which are trapped by the thermal catalytic filter 1 are first burnt, and then the fine particles are burnt in the downstream filter 2.

In order to treat carbon particles contained in the exhaust gas of a diesel engine, a filter for collecting carbon particles is provided in the exhaust system, and high-temperature combustion gas is passed back through the filter to remove the fine particles. However, in the conventional configuration, the combustion gas of the puff passes directly through the filter,
A large amount of soft carbon contained in the combustion residue adheres to the filter, reducing the regeneration efficiency of the filter.

In order to achieve the above object, the soot contained in the combustion gas is continuously removed and clean high temperature gas is supplied to the high temperature heat resistant filter. For this purpose, a thermal catalyst for removing soot is provided upstream of the high-temperature heat-resistant filter, and diesel exhaust particulates are removed by two filters.

Next, its effect will be explained. The carbon particles contained in the gas exhausted from the engine pass through a thermal catalyst filter with a relatively small pressure drop, leaving carbon particles large enough to be captured by the thermal catalyst on the way and flowing to the downstream filter. The downstream filter collects the very fine particles that passed through the upstream thermal catalytic filter. When a clogged downstream filter is detected, a burner is ignited to regenerate the filter. Soft carbon is contained in the combustion gas generated from the burner. By passing this combustion gas through a thermal catalyst filter, the filter is kept at a high temperature.Soft carbon generated from the burner is collected here, and large particle size carbon emitted from the engine is collected here. can be burned. That is, the high-temperature combustion gas after passing through this thermal catalyst becomes clean gas that does not contain soft carbon. This clean gas burns the particulates collected by the filter placed downstream.

As described above, the present invention is configured to remove soft carbon discharged from the burner and supply clean gas to the filter, and can efficiently regenerate the filter.
