Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent toner from scattering and to perform moisture-proofing, by dividing the inside of a developing device and sealing toner in a seal material airtight space, and removing the seal externally after setting a kit such as the developing device. CONSTITUTION:The developing device consists of a sleeve 23, bearing 24, butt roll 25 for securing the gap between the sleeve 23 and a photosensitive drum 2, sleeve driving gear 26, toner leakage preventing felt member 27, main body 28, toner storage container 29, etc. The opening part of the container 29 is sealed with a seal member 30. A molt plane 31 seals a main body notch part 28a. The end part 30c of the seal material 30 is drawn after the developing device is set to the copying machine body to open a narrow part lengthwise, supplying toner 32. The seal material 30 is drawn out of the notch 28a, but a packing 31 prevents the toner from scattering during and after the drawing-out operation.

Conventionally, in electrophotographic devices, especially dry type devices that use powdered developer, various methods have been proposed to prevent the developer (hereinafter referred to as toner) from scattering when replenishing the developer, such as placing the toner in a cartridge. It has also been put into practical use. However, it is difficult to completely prevent toner scattering. Furthermore, since it is not possible to identify the user of a copying machine intended for personal use, it is required to completely prevent scattering.

With K in this way, it is no longer necessary to attach and detach the developing device body and the cartridge, which not only prevents scattering, but also allows the user to simply replace the kit, instead of replacing the photosensitive drum, replenishing toner, and disposing of waste toner as in the past. Since there is no need to individually perform complicated operations such as cleaning the charging wire, it is possible to provide an apparatus with very excellent operability.

However, it is very difficult to completely prevent toner from scattering from the gap between the magnetic sleeve and the housing in the developing unit, and when considering a kit, the entire kit must be placed in a sealed container to prevent the toner from moisture. It has to be kept in there, which is not desirable.

If the opening 1 of the toner storage container 29 is larger than the opening of the developing device housing due to the capacity of the developer, etc., sealing members from 30 companies that cover the opening of the toner storage container are used as shown in FIGS. 5 and 6.
As shown in the figure, the width of the narrow part 30a is made to match or be smaller than the opening width of the current one-station device, and the wide part 30b is heat-welded to the toner storage container 29. Secure with + step. Notch 2 formed in the developing device housing by folding back the narrow end Qc of the seal.

After setting the developing device in the copying machine main body, the user pulls the end 30c of the toner sealing material 30 (the width is narrower than the trap) (the part 30a splits in the longitudinal direction), and the toner is removed from the toner storage container 29 into the developing device. The sealing material 60 can be supplied to the main body. The sealing material 60 can be pulled out from the notch 28 &
The Moltoplane gasket 61 can prevent the toner from scattering both during the time it is being pulled out and also after it has been pulled out.
