【実用新案登録請求の範囲】 １　カッタ本体の外周部に、複数の多角形状の切刃チッ
プを、その主切刃とされる直線部が前記カッタ本体の先
端側から後端側へ向かうに従ってカッタ本体の軸線から
漸次離間するように配置して着脱自在に装着し、かつこ
れら切刃チップのすくい面に隣接するチップポケットを
前記カッタ本体の外周に形成してなるスローアウェイ式
カッタにおいて、前記チップポケットを、前記切刃とさ
れる直線部とほぼ直交する断面積が前記カッタ本体の先
端側から後端側へ向かうに従って漸次増大するように形
成したことを特徴とするスローアウェイ式カッタ。 ２　前記チップポケットの断面積は、チップポケットの
幅と深さとのうち少なくとも一方が前記カッタ本体の先
端側から後端側へ向かうに従って漸次増大することによ
