Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent any breakage of the sealing area of a lamp device, in which a glass tube and an end plate made of a material other than glass are sealed, by placing a spacer in the fixation area between a lamp part and a base shell. CONSTITUTION:After a pair of electrodes 3 and inner tubes 2 for restricting a discharge path are installed in a limited space formed by a glass tube 1 one end of which is open and an end plate 4 made of a chrome stainless steel and used for airtightly sealing the opening 11 of the glass tube 1, a base shell 8 containing an electric circuit 10 is stuck to the end plate 4, thereby constituting a small discharge lamp. Here the spacer 6 is fixed to the glass tube 1 and the end plate 4 by means of a silicon-system adhesive 7, while the shell 8 is fixed to the outer surface of the spacer 6 by means of an adhesive 9. As a result, the sealing area 5 between the glass tube 1 and the end plate 4 can be protected with the spacer 6, thereby effectively preventing any breakage of the sealing area which might be caused due to external force applied during the manufacture or use of the lamp.

Normally, this type of lamp device 1, such as an incandescent lamp or a fluorescent lamp, has its light-emitting part entirely housed in a glass tube with an opening.
A lamp part is formed by airtightly sealing the opening with a glass stem in which an external lead-in wire is implanted, and a crown body is attached to the stem part of the lamp part.

It consists of a cap shell that has all the functions of electrically connecting the lamp and the power supply, and the cap shell is fixed with adhesive in a way that covers the sealing part between the glass tube and the stem of the lamp. Although it has a general structure, in recent years various products have been developed for the above-mentioned lamp devices for new uses, and in particular, lamp devices such as those with a light emitting part housed in a glass tube have been made larger or have a more complicated shape. In such cases, due to structural or manufacturing constraints, the material of the stem that airtightly seals the opening of the glass tube must be made of something other than conventional glass, such as a metal plate or a ceramic plate. There is something like that. For example, a small fluorescent lamp with a shape similar to an incandescent light bulb is an example.Since the components housed in the glass tube of these lamp devices are large, it is necessary to open the entire opening of the glass tube. Inevitably, the stem that seals this opening will be large. In addition, since the components housed in the glass tube are usually fixed to the stem, the stem needs to be shaped into a shape that allows the kneading components to be easily fixed. A stiff metal plate or ceramic plate, etc., which is easy to process, is used. Naturally, a material with a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to that of the glass tube to be sealed is used. 1 Usually, low melting point glass adhesive is used for sealing with glass tubes. However, since the sealed part is a seal between different materials such as glass and metal or glass and ceramic, even if a material with a similar expansion coefficient is used, it will be less effective than a glass-to-glass seal (3). The strength of the sealed portion is weak, and this has the disadvantage of cracking or tearing when external forces are applied during the manufacturing process or during use.

The present invention aims to solve the above-mentioned drawbacks, and is aimed at sealing the fixed portion between the lamp and the base shell of a lamp device having a structure in which a glass tube and an end plate (stem) made of a material other than glass are sealed. It is characterized by a structure in which the protective layer is protected by a spacer.

In the lamp device having the above structure, the lamp and the shell are fixed together through a spacer, and this spacer protects the lamp sealing part, so it is difficult to manufacture the lamp device.
It is possible to prevent an accident in which the lamp body part is damaged when an external force is applied to the fixed part during the assembly process or during use.

Furthermore, in any of the above embodiments, the adhesive for fixing the spacer and the lamp sealing part is preferably one that has some degree of elasticity even after fixing, in order to reduce the external force applied to the sealing part. From this point of view, silicone-based adhesives are most suitable.

Although the above example uses chromium steel as the material for the lamp end plate, it is clear that even if the entire lamp is made of other materials such as ceramic, it will be effective considering the effect of the spacer. It is.
