Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent knocking from occurring by providing a heat pipe surrounding a spark plug built in a cylinder head of a two stroke cycle engine having a heat insulating ceramic member in the inner wall of a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder block 1 of a two stroke cycle engine is attached with a metallic cylinder head 4 made of aluminum alloy etc., and on its inner wall 6 of a combustion chamber 5, a ceramic member 7 made of heat insulating nitric silicon, zirconia etc. is inserted. A spark plug 9 is screwed on to the female screw thread 4b in the cylinder head 3, and is inserted into a through hole in the ceramic member 7. A heat pipe 11 is placed tightly in a circular hole 4c surrounding the spark plug 9 in the cylinder head 4.

共に点火プラグの温度も著しく高くなり、高速側でグレ
イグニッションケ容易に起こす不具合が発生した。

ヒートパイプを設けたことによって、低速側でセラミッ
ク部材7によるエンジン性能を向上し、高速側では点火
プラグ及び七ラミック部材の熱は第2図のようにシリン
ダーヘッド・ヒートパイプ・フィンヲ経て放散されるた
めに温度全低減し、アレイグニッション及びノッキング
を有効に防止することができる。特にヒートパイプの作
動液の動作温度範囲を適宜選択することによって熱移動
の開始温度を上ケ、エンジンの低速側におけるセフミッ
ク部材の断熱効果を一層高めることができ、かつ高速側
では大量の熱輸送によってプレイグニツシヨン?生じな
い所定温度に保つことができる。なお例えば作動液とし
てはH,Oの動作温度5〜230°0に対し、(OsH
i )z0180〜800°0、Hg190〜550’

リンダーヘッド4に嵌着したものである。この構成の場
は点火プラグの熱の放散をニジ向上して温度を低減する
ことが可能である。

ニッション及びノッキングを有効に防止することができ
かつヒートパイプの作動液の動作温度を選ぶことによっ
て低速側におけるセラミック部材の断熱効果を高めて燃
費を著しく低減することができる2サイクルエンジンが
提供できる。
