Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain monochromatic or color display free from nonuniformity through simple constitution by bonding a metallic thin plate to the reverse surface of a thermal sheet for displaying information with thermal ink by heating and cooling. CONSTITUTION:A metallic thin plate 5 of stainless steel or copper is coated with white paint 3, transparent thermal ink 2 is applied thereupon, and a surface protecting layer 1 is provided. In another way, a dot pattern in three primary colors is printed on black paint as a substitute for the white paint layer 3 of a composite thermal sheet 6, and a heat-sensitive head positioned at a dot and a heat insulating material 8 are arranged. While the display surface of the composite thermal sheet 6 is held constant, information is displayed on the top side, and the metallic thin plate 5 on the reverse surface is cooled by blowing cold air during a return, erasing the information. Since the temperature is held uniform by the metallic thin plate 5, monochromatic or color display is obtained by the simple constitution.

In Figure 1, 1 is heat-resistant glass material (e.g. polyethylene AR), 2 is thermal ink (reversible thermochromic material), 3 is paint of each color, and 4 is the base material (e.g. preethylene).
It is. In order to display a visible image by heating, the thermal ink 2 must have characteristics as shown in FIG. 2 (To
can be repeatedly colored or made transparent by heating at room temperature (T2), maintaining that state at a certain temperature (temperature T1), and then returning to the original state by cooling (cooling temperature Ta).

However, there is a drawback that the maintenance temperature must be maintained uniformly and uniformly, otherwise it will appear uneven, and in order to cool down to the temperature of the parents, the temperature difference cannot be made as large as in the case of heating, so there is a drawback that the efficiency is low.
