PURPOSE:To both reduce open-close handling force of a hood and prevent the hood from tumbling at its opening, by interposing an auxiliary spring mechanism in a hinge part of the engine hood. CONSTITUTION:One end part of a hood 2 is turnably supported laterally in its two places by a hinge 3 to a counter weight 4 at the side of a car body, and the hood 2 can be opened and closed. Then the hood 2 is opened and closed by a gas strut 7 of auxiliary spring mechanism through a bracket 6, and a piston rod end 7a of the gas strut 7 is turnably connected to an internal rear end surface of the hood 2, while a cylinder end 7b of the gas strut 7 is supported turnably to a cross plate 8 through a bracket 9. This gas strut 7 can apply auxiliary force to the hood at its opening and closing by thrust of gas to a piston rod 7c.

開操作力を著減し、フード閉操作時にあっては衝撃的な
閉iシを防止してフードが緩慢な閉動を行うようにした
ものである。
