Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a loud speaker diaphragm which excels in the heat resistance and the humidity resistance with a large specific elastic modulus, by forming a sheet matter with lamination of the agglomerated mica on the basic fabric of glass fibers and then impregnating the plastic excellent in the heat resistance and rigidity into the sheet and giving the forming under heating to such sheet matter. CONSTITUTION:The micro mica flakes 5 and the agglomerated mica 5 or the mica compounded with natural pulp 6 are laminated on a substrate 4 made of fibers having a high elastic modulus like glass fibers, etc. Thus a sheet matter is obtained, and then the plastic 7 excellent in the heat resistance and rigidity is impregnated into the sheet matter. This sheet is dried and formed by a forming metallic die under heating and pressure at 180 deg.C-200 deg.C and for 5-6sec. Thus a loud speaker diaphragm 1 is obtained. Such diaphragm excels in the heat resistance, humidity resistance and stability of measurements with a high elastic modulus and with no fragility.

For this reason, composite diaphragms made of carbon fiber and epoxy resin, and diaphragms made from laminated mica and synthetic resin have been developed and some have been put into practical use, but they have a high specific modulus and are excellent. Although it has physical properties, it is brittle, and when used in high-output speakers, it lacks reliability, such as breakage, and the thickness tends to be uneven, resulting in variations in characteristics.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention has a base fabric made of fibers with a high modulus of elasticity and a laminated sheet of laminated mica in a flat shape or laminated mica mixed with natural pulp, which has high heat resistance and rigidity. It is characterized by being constructed by thermoforming a material impregnated with an excellent synthetic resin.

As shown in FIG. 2, this speaker diaphragm 1 has a base fabric 4 made of glass fiber, carbon fiber, or aromatic polyamide fiber, which has excellent heat resistance and specific modulus, and has little dimensional change.
The laminated mica 6 alone, which is made up of flat fine mica scales obtained by exfoliating into the size of 30 to 2 oO mesh, or laminated with laminated mica 6 mixed with natural pulp 6, has heat resistance and rigidity. It is made of synthetic resin 7, such as a thermosetting resin such as epoxy or phenol, or a thermoplastic resin such as acrylic resin, which has excellent rigidity and adhesiveness.

That is, its production involves laminating fine mica pieces 6 alone or composite mica 6 mixed with natural pulp 6 on base fabric 4 to form a sheet, impregnating this with synthetic resin 7, drying, and then molding it into a mold. The diaphragm 1 for a speaker having the shape shown in FIG. 1 is obtained by heat-pressing molding at 180 DEG C. to 20 DEG C. for 5 to 6 seconds. At this time, if the sheet-like material is in a +micure state, it is possible to form a speaker diaphragm with a low overall height, but if the sheet-like material is in a fully cured state, it can be molded in advance to match the cone shape. If a sheet is cut out in a fan shape and then heated and formed into a seamed cone as shown in FIG. 1, a loudspeaker diaphragm 1 with a high overall height can be obtained.

As a result, although mica diaphragms have good physical properties, they have the disadvantage of having a large resonance sharpness Q.The speaker diaphragm of the present invention is close to mica diaphragms in terms of specific elastic modulus, and also has a high resonance sharpness Q. Although it is not as large as a natural pulp diaphragm, it is sufficiently smaller than a mica diaphragm, making it an excellent speaker diaphragm.
