Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a subject device which allows ink drop to be steadily jetted in the form of particles and is easy to form it into a multi type, by constituting the device such that a number of ink jet nozzles, formed of an insulating body, are formed, and an electrode is formed in at least one spot at the inner wall of each ink jet nozzle. CONSTITUTION:V-recesses (ink jet nozzles) 12a are formed in an insulating body 12 by an etching made on a Si wafer to form a SiO2 film on the surface. A control electrode 13 is formed at the inside of each V-recess 12a, and an insulating plate 11 is adhered to the upper part of the V-recess. Spots, where ink drop is produced, or the forward ends of the control electrodes are positioned independently from each other, and this allows the ink drop to be more steadily jetted in the form of particles when compared with that which is jetted through an ink nozzle formed in a slit.

Inkjet Jitsuko 5, which uses an electric field to fly ink droplets
The inkjet recording device described in Japanese Patent No. 4-19874 uses a nozzle and applies an electric field to the tip of the nozzle, so the concentration of the electric field is large and the efficiency is good, but on the other hand, Multiplication is difficult, and Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 56-170 or Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 56-42664
The inkjet recording device described in the publication has a single slit for ejecting ink, and a large number of control electrodes are disposed within the slit, so no nozzles are used and multiplication is possible. However, on the other hand, the electric field cannot be concentrated, the efficiency is low, and furthermore, depending on the slit spacing and slit width, the flying ink particles may become unstable.

FIG. 5 is a diagram for explaining the operating principle of the present invention. In the figure, 11 and 12 are insulators, 13 is a control electrode, 1 is a recording paper, and (9) is a bias electrode. , control electrode 1
3 is configured to protrude toward the recording paper as shown in the figure, and an electric field is applied to the ink at the tip of each control electrode 13 by a bias voltage to the extent that ink droplets do not fly out. The ink droplets 14 are ejected when a pulse is applied to the control electrode 13. In addition,
The size of the ink drop 14 can be varied by varying the pulse width or amplitude of the pulse signal.

FIG. 6 is a diagram showing the main parts of an example of an inkjet recording device constructed based on the above-mentioned principle.
In this embodiment, the control electrode 13 is made to protrude in the direction of recording paper, and an acceleration electrode 40 is provided between the head portion W and the recording paper 20.
Furthermore, a gap between bias electrodes is provided on the back surface of the recording paper, thereby making it possible to increase the distance between the head portion W and the recording paper condyle.

FIG. 7 is a front view of the head section showing still another embodiment of the present invention, for example, a portion where the upper part of the V groove of the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 is communicated with the control electrode 13. It is easy to understand that even with this method, the tips of each control electrode can be separated. Furthermore, it is easy to understand that this technical concept can be applied to the square groove of the embodiment shown in FIG.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, the ink droplet formation locations, that is, the tips of the control electrodes are independent from each other, so that the conventional ink droplet formation locations are in fluid communication with each other. It is possible to provide an inkjet recording device that can obtain more stable particles than an inkjet recording device that has a slit-shaped droplet jetting port, and that can be easily multiplied.
