Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of parts and to simply contain a monolithic catalyst in a catalyzer container by forming a projection and/or recess on the inner peripheral wall of an inner case having a tapered surface corresponding to the lower oblique surface of the container. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas purifier is constructed to contain an inner case 12 and a monolith catalyzer 11 disposed in the inner case in a catalyst container 13 which is clamped with a bolt 16 and a nut 17 at the downstream side of an exhaust gas manifold 15. In this case, the cylindrical inner case 12 which contains the catalyzer 11 formed and baked in advance in the prescribed shape is formed with a flange 12a at one end of the upstream side, is mounted on the container 13, and is formed with a tapered surface 12b along the oblique surface of the container 13 at the downstream side end. A projection 12c and a recess groove 12d are formed on the inner peripheral wall of the case 12, thereby forming a structure for preventing the catalyzer 11 from moving elevationally in the case 12.

Conventionally, in a monolithic catalyst for exhaust gas purification, as shown in FIG. 1, a retainer 2, a cushion 3, a shim 4, etc. are arranged on the upstream side of the monolithic catalyst 1 in the exhaust gas flow direction, and on the downstream side A cushion 3 is provided to maintain the flow direction of the exhaust gas. On the outer circumferential side of the monolithic catalyst 1, there is an inkram 6 (thermally foamable sealing material) that prevents the exhaust gas from passing through the space between the monolithic catalyst 1 and the catalyst container 5. Wire nets 7 that absorb the difference in thermal expansion between the monolithic catalyst 1 and the monolithic catalyst 1 and the rattling due to photographing, etc. are arranged to hold the outer peripheral side of the monolithic catalyst 1.

しかし、この従来のモノリス触媒保持構造においては、

However, in this conventional monolithic catalyst holding structure,
When a monolithic catalyst is placed in a catalyst container, the wire net that is previously placed in the catalyst container is closed and press-fitted, so there is a problem that the monolithic catalyst may become slanted or cracked.

Further, there is a problem that the inkram used as the casseal is expensive, and furthermore, there is a problem that there are a large number of parts.

The invention was made in view of the above-mentioned problems, and it is possible to easily accommodate the monolithic catalyst in the catalyst container, and to create a structure that does not use an ink-ram in the gas seal, and furthermore, to create a structure with a large number of parts. The purpose is to provide a monolithic catalyst holding structure that reduces the amount of carbon used.

For this reason, in the reconstruction of the monolith tactile retainer of the present invention, a flange portion is formed at the downstream end, a tapered surface corresponding to the slope of the catalyst container is formed at the downstream end, and the inner peripheral wall (knee strip portion and The present invention is characterized in that a monolithic catalyst formed by molding and firing into a shape that matches the internal shape of the inner case is housed in an oily inner case formed of at least one of four parts.

In FIG. 2, reference numeral 1 denotes a monolithic catalyst, which is previously molded and fired into a shape that matches the internal shape of the cylindrical inner case 12 and housed therein. Inner case 12 - has seven lunges 12a at one end on the upstream side of the exhaust gas flow, and has a tapered surface 12b at the other end on the downstream side, which corresponds to one surface of the container 13; The peripheral wall has a protruding strip 12C1 and a concave groove 12d.

The flange portion 12a is located at the step t81 at the edge of the catalyst container 13 (from the second point, the monolithic catalyst 1 is attached to the catalyst container 13 via the inner case 12. Also, the tapered surface) 2C prevents the monolithic catalyst 11 from swinging in all directions together with the inner case 12. Also, the protruding stripes 2c and the grooves 1211 prevent the monolithic catalyst 11 from moving up and down within the inner case 12. is prevented.

According to the present invention as described above, the monolithic catalyst is housed in the catalyst container, and damage to the monolithic catalyst is extremely easy. Since the monolithic catalyst can be held only in the inner case without using expensive parts, the cost can be significantly reduced and the number of parts can be reduced.Furthermore, the inside of the flange part of the inner case is designed to hold the monolithic catalyst. Since no parts of the monolithic catalyst protrude, a large exhaust gas passage area of the monolithic catalyst can be obtained, and a monolithic catalyst holding structure can be provided that can achieve the same performance as the monolithic catalyst.
