Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent an adsorption phenomenon without abrasion and deterioration of a head and to improve the reliability and storage capacity, by making the surface of the contact start-stop area rougher than that of the record reproducing area. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic disk 3 in which a magnetic layer 1 is installed on an aluminium substrate 2 is rotated. A grain layer 4 is installed on the lower surface of a slider 6 of a lamp load head 5. This head 5 is controlled so that it slides by contacting with the disk surface in a record reproducing area Q on the disk surface and unloads by separating from the disk surface in a contact start- stop area P. In this way, minutely projected parts are removed from the surface of the area Q and minute projected parts 7 remain on the surface of the area P. As a result, the area P has minute projections of >=0.1mum and its surface is made rougher than the area Q.

In this C8S system, the disk rotation start and stop tube head is on the Dinuk surface! The magnetic recording medium has a playback area for recording and a C8S area in contact with the head. In such a C8S type magnetic disk drive, since the head is in contact with the disk surface when the disk stops rotating, the disk and the disk are attracted to each other by moisture in the air or liquid lubricant between them. If this occurs, excessive force is applied to the head when the disk is started, causing the shield to tilt, which may cause damage to the head and disk. Problems caused by such attraction become more serious as the flying height of the head is lowered in order to increase the storage capacity of the magnetic disk, and as the head and disk are mounted closer to a mirror surface. If the surface of the disk is simply made unnecessarily rough in order to avoid such adhesion, problems such as wear and deterioration of the head will occur.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and an object of the present invention is to provide a magnetic disk medium which is highly reliable and has a large storage capacity, preventing the phenomenon of adsorption without causing wear or deterioration of the head. Therefore, the magnetic disk medium Ks? related to the real tl14? In this case, the surface of the C88 area is rougher than the surface of the recording/reproducing area due to the grooves having micro protrusions to prevent the head from adsorbing.
It is formed.

When forming a magnetic film on the surface of a magnetic disk, a film strengthening agent containing hard fine particles such as Aldensu is used. Such fine particles form microtubules in the disc-fitting area. These minute protrusions are polished and removed according to the flying height of the Helad O to a height that does not interfere with the seek of the head. The height of this microprotrusion tA: α1μm or less, B: α2JlsseC: a35J
Figures 1 and 2 show the relationship between the adsorption force between the head and the disk, the amount of liquid lubricant on the disk, and the relative humidity when tm, D: Q, 6 μs. As shown in the figure, the rise of adsorption O shifts to the side where the amount of lubricant is larger as the protrusion height is higher. In addition, as can be seen from Figure 2, the higher the height of the microprotrusions, the more difficult it is for adsorption to occur even under high humidity. It can be seen that adsorption can be prevented if the height is α1μ or more.

On the other hand, if we look at the wear and deterioration of the magnetic head, it can be caused by the intrusion of dust or the high flying height during high-speed rotation. Wear and deterioration are accelerated, and C

Taking the above points into consideration, in order to prevent wear and deterioration of the head as well as the adsorption phenomenon during C8S, K is: CSS area Kti - lower than the head spatula amount (kari α 1μ or more fine protrusions are present; recording The conclusion is that it is sufficient to have a good distribution of microprotrusions in the regeneration area.

In this way, the fine protrusions in the 088 area are not polished, but the fine protrusions with a height lower than the head flying height (and α1μ or more) are left (particularly, the surface wi of the rcss area is made to have an appropriate roughness). The adhesion phenomenon can be prevented without causing wear or deterioration of the eherad. Also, by removing the minute protrusions 1* on the surface of the recording/reproducing area, it is possible to increase the self-memory density by using a head with a low flying height. In addition, when the head is dirty with dust etc. from the nickel and K where micro protrusions are present in the C8S area, the C8
This microprotrusion also has the effect of removing dirt (at the time of S).

A method of leaving the minute protrusions in the C8S area and removing the minute protrusions 1* in the recording/reproducing area will be explained based on FIG. 3. The magnetic layer 1 is rotated through the magnetic disc 3t provided on the aluminum base 2. An abrasive grain layer 4 is provided on the lower surface of the fiber finish 6 of the run fading head 6. This Tsunzo road head 5 slides in contact with the enlarged disk surface in the recording/reproducing area Q on the disk surface, and
The drive is controlled to unseal away from the disk surface to the SS area. Through such operations, minute protrusions are removed from the recording/playback area Q4D, and the CSS area p
The microprotrusions 7 remain on the OP surface, and therefore, as shown in FIG. 4, the CSS area has microprotrusions of 1 μm or more, and the recording/reproducing area Q has a rough surface. .

Note that the method for removing minute protrusions is not limited to the method of using a head with a layer of abrasive grains on the slider, but it is also possible to use a grinding head made of a hard material such as ordinary aluminium, or by forming unevenness on the bottom surface of the slider. A special processing head may also be used. In order to load the front head into the recording/reproducing area and unload it into the C8S area, K may use a ramp "a-drive" mechanism, or a magnet may be attached to the head to position it in a predetermined position. It can be controlled to magnetically load and load the area.
