[Detailed description of the invention] This invention uses a frost detector attached to a cooler such as a refrigerator to automatically and accurately detect when it is time to defrost the frost that has adhered to the cooler, and to defrost it. This relates to the installation of frost detectors on coolers.

The conventional structure and installation method of this frost detector is that the upper surface of a metal casing with good heat conduction is a vibrating surface with a piezoelectric ceramic thin plate attached to the inner surface, and the lower part is a vibrating surface that vibrates the upper part of the casing during defrosting. A heater for removing frost adhering to the surface and surrounding area is molded and housed, and can be attached to the cooler using a flange formed on the lower surface.

With this structure, the vibrating surface is cooled by heat conduction from the end plate of the cooler, frost forms in the same way as the cooler, and vibration stops when a certain amount of frost forms, and the stop of vibration is detected electrically. defrosting is started.

However, with this structure and mounting method, there is a distance between the mounting surface of the cooler and the vibration surface that detects the frost detector, and due to the thermal resistance of the casing, there is a large temperature difference between the collection mounting surface and the vibration surface. There was a problem that there was little frost and detection was delayed.

This invention solves the above problems, and aims to eliminate the detection delay caused by conventional installation by reducing the temperature difference between the cooler and the vibrating surface of the frost detector, making it easier for frost to form. It is something.

以下図面により本考案の一実施例を説明する。An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

In such a device, the frost detector 1 is directly attached to a cooler such as a refrigerator, so that the vibrating surface 4 is also cooled by heat conduction of the casing 2, and frosting occurs in the same manner as the cooler 13.

Then, the vibration stops at a certain amount of frosting, and when the stop of the vibration is electrically detected, defrosting of the cooler 13 is started by means provided separately.

Therefore, since the distance between the vibration surface 4 and the cooler 13 (in this case, the end plate 11 of the cooler which is the mounting surface) is close and the temperature difference is small, frost is formed on the vibration surface 4 in the same way as frost is formed on the cooler. This enables highly accurate detection.

Furthermore, since the second constricted portion 7 is attached to the end plate 11, the vibration of the vibrating surface 4 is not adversely affected and reliable operation is ensured.

In this way, the present invention is equipped with a cooler and a frost detector that detects frost adhering to the cooler, and the frost detector has a vibrating surface that detects the amount of frost adhering, and a heater that removes the frost. Consisting of an internal casing, this casing has a plurality of constrictions with small diameters located between the vibrating surface and the part in which the heater is internally installed, and close to the vibrating surface side.
The constriction farthest from the vibration surface is attached to the cooler, which reduces the temperature difference between the vibration surface and the cooler.
Frost on the vibrating surface can be made to be almost the same as frost on the cooler, allowing for highly accurate detection and easy installation using the constriction, which elastically supports the vibrating surface. This allows for stable oscillation and reliable detection.
