Abstract

PURPOSE:An easily handeable and usable solid fuel capable of economically and efficiently burning and heating, which is prepd. by packaging an amorphous carbonaceous solid fuel with a combustible packig material, and ignited and used as such. CONSTITUTION:A necessary amt. of an amorphous carbonaceous solid fuel 1 is packaged with a combustible packing material 2 to form a solid fuel capable of being ignited and used as such. As the carbonaceous solid fuel, although a coal- base one is usable, a char coal-base one which is well ignitable and evolves no smell is pref. Flaky coconut husk char available in Southeast Asia is the most desirable. As the packing material, particularly a cellophane film is advantageously used because the condition of an inside carbonaceous solid fuel is visible from outside and the film is easily combustible. A paper-made solid packing material called pulpmold is also pref. in view of fastness and combustibility.

Conventionally, various solid or liquid fuels have been used for temporary cooking during outdoor leisure activities such as mountain climbing and camping, or for heating and cooking in emergencies such as disasters and power outages. Petroleum-based liquid fuels are unsuitable for these purposes from the viewpoint of transportation and handling, and alcohol-based high-power fuels are mainly used. However, even these alcohol-based liquid fuels are not convenient to transport and handle, require special combustion equipment, and tend to vaporize and dissipate between the time they are taken out of the container and the time they are ignited. However, there are many drawbacks such as being harmful if it comes into contact with food or the human body.

Therefore, solid fuels (so-called portable fuels) are preferred for these uses, and alcohol-based solid fuels or hexamine (hexamethylenetetramine)-based solid fuels are mainly used. Among these, hexamine-based materials have the disadvantage of generating irritating gas when burned, and are also hygroscopic and tend to absorb moisture during storage, resulting in poor ignitability. In addition, if you touch it directly with your hands, it may irritate your skin and cause problems such as dermatitis.

For this reason, this type of solid fuel must be supplied in a sealed container such as a can, but this requires the effort of opening the can before use, resulting in many inconveniences such as the production of empty cans after use.

For this reason, attempts have been made to cover hexamine with paraffin paper, a moisture-proof top, etc. [7] to prevent moisture absorption during storage and transportation, and to burn it with the coating intact during use; however, in this case, combustion of the coating material The ash generated along with this inhibits the complete combustion of hexamine, and the generation of the above-mentioned irritating odor gas is further overcharged. Alcohol-based solid fuels are also stored in cans, in order to prevent alcohol from evaporating during storage and transportation. It must be packaged in a container such as a bottle or cheap, and since the alcohol liquefies and burns when used, it is necessary to use a metal can as a container and use it as a combustion tool, or to use a special combustion device. must be used.

Furthermore, although these solid fuels generally have good ignition curves and great firepower, they have a short combustion duration, and if you want to sustain combustion for a long time, you must replenish the fuel one after another.
It cannot be said that 4) is suitable for applications such as cooking and heating that require maintaining firepower for a relatively long period of time. Uses solid fuel! It is an object of the present invention to provide a solid fuel that is convenient to handle and use without causing the above-mentioned disadvantages.

The solid fuel of the present invention is characterized in that it is made by packaging the required amount of amorphous carbonaceous solid fuel in a combustible packaging material, and is used for ignition in the packaged state.
An example is shown in cross-section. In the figure, (1) is an amorphous carbonaceous solid fuel, and the solid fuel of the present invention is constructed by packaging and sealing the required amount with a combustible packaging material (2).

The carbonaceous solid fuel used in the present invention is in the form of crushed pieces, flakes, or powder particles that do not have specific dimensions or shapes, and coal-based fuels may also be used, but from the purpose of the present invention, A charcoal-based material that ignites easily and does not produce an unpleasant odor when burned is preferable. Therefore, crushed general charcoal (black charcoal, white charcoal), scrap charcoal generated during manufacturing and handling, etc. can be used, but in particular, small flaky coconut husks (or [7 charcoal]) imported from Southeast Asia can be used. Charcoal is most preferred for use.

The packaging material used for the packaging of the present invention may be any sheet-like packaging material as long as it is combustible, but in particular cello-film can be used. This is convenient because its condition can be visually checked from the outside and it is easily flammable. It is even more advantageous to seal the package using a moisture-proof top, which can completely prevent the solid fuel content from absorbing moisture. Further, a paper-based solid packaging material called pulp mold is also preferable from the viewpoint of its robustness and combustibility.

Since it can be handled and used in its packaged state, it can be used extremely cleanly without getting your hands dirty or being scattered around. In addition, since the required amount is packaged, if you select and use the appropriate amount according to the purpose of heating, there will be no excess or shortage of fuel, resulting in economical and efficient combustion. Heating can be performed.
