In telephone subscriber distribution networks, switchable connection points are often provided at the boundary between feeder cables and distribution cables, or in the middle of the feeder cables, in order to make effective use of lines in response to fluctuations in the number of subscribers. It is carried out.

The typical switchable connection point is called a switch connection board, and most of these are installed on utility poles, and inside the switch connection board, hundreds to thousands of pairs of insulated core wires are hand-twisted and soldered. Each fiber is manually connected and arranged in order of core number.

When performing normal connection switching in such a switch connection board, it is necessary to check whether the insulated core wire is the one to be switched, not only to confirm the core number one by one, but also to check the telephone number before switching. It is necessary to check with the side or the subscriber side, but since the connection points are soldered as mentioned above, if you disconnect the line just for confirmation, you will have to reconnect it if the line is not the one to be switched. This extra effort may lead to the inconvenience of using the extra connection length more than necessary.

As shown in Figure 1, the connection method called father-son twist soldering involves exposing the tip conductor parts 3 of the insulated core wires 1 and 2, twisting the conductor parts together by hand, soldering that part 4, and placing a plastic sleeve 5 on top. The overall shape is not uniform like a connector.

Such connections are housed inside the switching connection board, and although they are arranged in order of wire number, hundreds to thousands of insulated core wires are intricately intertwined, and if they are arranged out of order, they cannot be put back together. The problem is that it is extremely difficult to do things, and that it looks cluttered and unsightly.

The monitor terminal or cut-off terminal is a thick plate like No. 14, and the surface that comes into sliding contact with the bent part for the monitor contact on the female connector connecting piece slides into contact with the flat part for the contact on the male connector connecting piece. It has a surface and the inserted state is as shown in Fig. 3.

In other words, the monitor terminal or split terminal is inserted between the female connector connecting piece and the male connector connecting piece and contacts the bent part for the monitor contact and the flat part for the contact, and its thickness allows the connecting piece of the female connector to be connected to the opposite side of the male connector. It has the function of creating a gap between the flat part for the contact of the male connector connecting piece and the bent part for the connecting contact of the female connector connecting piece and breaking the contact.

Therefore, by inserting this monitor terminal, the insulated core wire 1
At the same time, the connection between the insulated core wire 1 and the monitor terminal lead wire 143, and the connection between the insulated core wire 2 and the monitor terminal lead wire 144 are made, and measurements can be made from the outside without disconnecting the male connector. It becomes possible to transmit signals, etc.

Also, the disconnect terminal is 1 in Figure 2 or 3.
4 are all made of insulators, and are simply insulated core wires 1 and 2.
By inserting this, it is possible to perform separate insulation tests on the line from the telephone office side or the subscriber side to the connection point.
