Abstract

PURPOSE:To select freely the type and the shape of character, by forming an area of character information data and an area of a conversion table on the same disc, and reproducing a character information signal with the converting table corresponding to the character information data. CONSTITUTION:When the disc 1 is set on an area DA of a prescribed location, a character information data is detected with a pickup 2 and applied to a microprocessor 5. A control signal SC of the pickup 2 is outputted based on the character information data. Further, the pickup 2 searches a converting table area DB and a character information signal is detected from the converting table and applied to the microprocessor 5, from which the character information signal is applied to a display 4 for displaying the character. Thus, the type and shape of character are set freely by changing optionally the converting table.

In conventional microcomputers, word processors, etc., character information data (including kanji) is built into the operating system or ROM (read only memory), and inside the main body of the microcomputer, word processor, etc., ASCII (7 or 8 bits) characters (kanji) are stored. are processed as separate characters).

These ASCII characters and the like are converted into character information signals of 5 x 7 bits (mainly 16 x 16 bits for Kanji characters) through a character generator at the terminal, and then supplied to a display or the like.

In this case, the capacity of the ROM is not so large, at most IM bits, and it was not possible to store that much character information data in it. Also, inside the main body of a microcomputer, word processor, etc., it is processed in ASCII (7 bits or 8 bits) character format, and 1.
Since this ASCII character system is converted into a character information signal through a character generator (conversion table is determined), it is a number that is displayed on a display or the like.

The present invention has been made in view of this point, and an area containing character information data and a conversion area for converting character information data into a character information signal are formed on the same disk, and the character information data is converted into a character information signal. It is an object of the present invention to propose a character information reproducing device that can reproduce character information signals from a corresponding conversion table and eliminates the drawbacks of the above-mentioned microcomputers, word processors, etc.

As described above, according to the example in FIG. 1, an area D having character information data and an area D of a conversion table for converting character information data into a character information signal are formed on the same disk (1), and Since the character information signal can be reproduced from the conversion table corresponding to the information data, the conversion table can be changed arbitrarily and the types and shapes of characters that can be displayed on the display (4) can be freely selected. Display and appearance can be made. Furthermore, since the character information data is recorded on the disk, a much larger amount of character information data can be recorded than in the conventional ROM.

In this example in FIG. 1, a small capacity RAM (random access memory) (7) is provided as shown by the broken line.
If rough information (address) indicating where the conversion table corresponding to the character information data in the information data area DA is located in the conversion table area DB is stored in advance, the character information detected from the information data area DA can be stored in advance. When the picker f(2) searches for a conversion table corresponding to data, it is initially controlled according to the rough address information from this RAM (7), and then finely controlled, so the search operation The time required can be shortened.

As is clear from the embodiments described above, according to the character information reproducing apparatus according to the present invention, an area containing information data and an area of a conversion table for converting information data into a character information signal are located on the same disk. Since the character information signal can be reproduced from the conversion table that is formed and corresponds to the character information data, the conversion table can be changed arbitrarily and the types and shapes of characters that can be displayed on the display can be freely selected. can be displayed and displayed with good appearance. Further, since the character information data is recorded on the disk, it is convenient because it can record a much larger amount of character information data than the conventional ROM.
