Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable processing of plural kinds of handwriting information inputted by a pen from a pen inputting section by providing a process changeover switch in the pen. CONSTITUTION:A pen 1 has a switch 2 that selects processing and desired mode of processing can be set by this. Set processing mode signal S is inputted to a process changeover section 4. When written with a pan, a pen inputting section 3 detects the handwriting in coordinates X, Y and inputted to each processing section in common as input address signal X, Y. On the other hand, the pen inputting section 3 detects up/down signal Z of the pen 1 according to handwriting, and outputs to a pocess changeover sectio 4. The changeover section 4 outputs the up/down signal Z to desired processing sections 5-7 by processing mode signal S. Processing sections 5-7 perform, basing on X, Y signals, character recognizing process, image inputting process or process that indicates coordinae of the pen inputting section 3.
