この発明は自動車におけるチッピングプロテクタすなわ
ち、車体ホイールハウス下側面のチッピングによる傷つ
き、発錆な防止するために配設してホイールノ・ウス下
側面を棟う樹脂製チッピングプロテクタの取付構造に関

図示せず）により接着してプロテクタ３のブラブラな防

このため第３図に示すようにコ字状クリッグ６を用いて
チッピングプロテクタ３の下端部３ａをサイドシルｔの
下側接合フランジＩＩｄと共に挾んで固定するようにし
たものが提案されているが、プロテクタ３の取付作業等
は容易であるが、チッピングを最も受は易い部位である
ためチッピングによりクリップ６が外れてしまう恐れが
あり取付の安定性が損なわれるという問題がある。更Ｋ
、第２図、第３図の両方の場合にあってもビスｊやクリ
ップ乙という別部品を必要とするため、高価なものとな

ずる開口部を形成する一方、チッピングプロテクタの下
端にＵ字状片な延長し、該Ｕ字状片の内側部片遊端部に
クリップ片を突設して、該内側部片を前記開口部に嵌入
すると共に前記クリップ片をサイドシルの内面に引掛け
