Abstract

PURPOSE:To diffuse and pack molten solder forcibly into the spacings between pipes which are cooled on the joining sides and a joint member provided with a projection on the inside surface at both ends having a brazing material and to join the pipes securely by inserting the pipes into said joint member and heating the same. CONSTITUTION:A projection (g) is formed on one body on the inside circumference at both ends of a joint member (b) having a brazing material (e). The joint sides of pipes a, a' to be joined are cooled with a refrigerant (m) such as liquid nitrogen or the like and are then inserted into the member (b). The joint member is heated to melt the solder and the molten solder is diffused and packed forcibly in the spacings between the pipes a, a' and the member (b) by utilizing the recovering effect of the pipes a, a' during heating. The pipes a, a' are joined securely by the above-mentioned method without pressurization.
