Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は、署名、顔写真等カードの所有者に固有の画像
が形成され、この画像によりカードの使用者が本人であ
ることを確認する証明カードの前記画像が偽造されてい
ないが、どうかを検出する方法に関する。
例えば、クレジットカード、身分証明カード等署名、顔
写真等によりカード使用者が本人であるが否かの確認を
行なう類の証明カードに於いては、署名の書き変え、顔
写真の入れ変え等の偽造が施されるとそのまま不正使用
に供されてしまうことになり、このため前記の如くの偽
造を防止著し、くは検出する手段が強く要望されている
。
本発明はかかる要望を満足すべくなされたものであって
、その目的とするところは上記の如くの証明カードの署
名、顔写真等の画像が偽造された場合これを検出するこ
とができる方法を提供することにあり、カード発行時に
上記画像をスキャニングして得られた画像信号をカード
上の磁気記録帯に記録し、この証明カードの使用時に前
記画像をスキャニングするとともに前記磁気記録帯を再
生し、このスキャニングにより得られる画像信号と前記
磁気記録帯を再生することにより得られる画像信号とを
比較することにより前記画像の偽造の有無を検出するも
のである。
以下に本発明を図面の実施例に基づき詳細に説明する。
第１図は本発明にかかる証明カードの平面図であり、第
２図及び第３図は本発明方法の工程を示す説明図である
。
証明カード１は第１図に示されるように力ｉドの所有者
を特定するための顔写真３及び署名５が形成されており
、さらに磁気記録帯２、カードの番号４等が形成されて
いる。
このような証明カード１を発行する際にカードの所有者
を特一定するための顔写真３及び署名５をスキャニング
し、これにより得られた画像信号を磁気記録帯２に記録
する。
これをさらに具体的に述べれば、第２図に示されるよう
に光源（好ましくはレーザー）１１がらレンズ１３を通
して証明カード１の表面に光を照射し、この表面からの
反射光をレンズ１４を介して受光素子１２に受けるよう
な光学系を形成し、例えば第３図（イ）に示されるよう
な署名５及び顔写真５を横切るスキャニングライン１５
に沿ってスキャニングできるように光源１１がらの光の
照射位置を調整し、然る後証明カード１を光学系に対し
て相対的に移動させることにより受光素子１２からは第
３図（ロ）に示されるような署名５及び顔写真３の濃度
の差による反射光の強弱に基づ（画像信号が出力される
。署名５に対しては中間調がないので白又は黒で出力さ
れるが、顔写真６の部分は階調を有する信号となるので
例えばコンパレータレベル１６が設定されたコンパレー
タ（図示せず−）通して白又は黒の２値の信号となしく
第３図（ハ））、この信号から抽出される黒の本数を画
像信号として磁気記録帯２に記録する。
このようにしてなる証明カード１はその使用時に於いて
署名５及び顔写真６による本人の確認を行なう前に次の
ような処理が施される。即ち、このような証明カードに
於いては署名５及び顔写真　　□６が改変されてしまう
とそのカードは本人を特定することが不可能となり他人
による不正な使用が可能となってしまうので、これを防
ぐためにそのカードが発行されたときと同様に署名５及
び顔写真３をスキャニングし、さらに同様の信号処理を
施して画像信号を得る。同時に、この証明カード１の磁
気記録帯２を再生することでカード発行時に記録された
画像信号をとり出す。
このスキャニングにより得られた画像信号と磁気記録帯
２を再生することで得られる画像信号とを比較し、２つ
の信号が一致していれば署名５及セ。
び顔写真かカード発行時以後改変を受けていない正常な
カードと判断され、他方、前記２つの信号具なっておれ
ばその証明カードは署名５及び顔写真３に何らかの改変
が加えられた不正なものであるとして検出することがで
きる。
このようにして、署名５及び顔写真３が偽造されていな
いと判定された証明カードが前述した署名５及び顔写真
３に基づく本人の確認に供されることになる。
なお、上記説明に於いては証明カードに形成する本人を
特定するための画像を署名及び顔写真としたがこれに限
られることなく指紋及びこれらの組み合わせでも良い。
また磁気記録帯２に記録され、偽造物がどうかを確かめ
るためのデータとなる画像信号は黒の本数によるものと
したが、黒の巾、間隔等を考慮したものとしても良いし
、また濃度を数段階のレベルに分割したものを対象とし
ても良い。さらにまた、。Ｆ記実施例ではスキャニング
ラインに沿った１回のスキャニングにより画像信号を得
たが、スキャニングライン及びその回数は任意に選択で
きる。
以上に述べたように、本発明によれば顔写真、署名等所
有者に固有の画像により本人の特定の行なう証明カード
の前記画像が改ざんされた場合、これを簡単かつ確実に
検出することができ、この種証明カードの偽造及びその
証明カードによる不正な使用を防止することができるも
のである。
