Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate completely ozone produced from a discharging means to prevent the corrosion of a charged wire as well as to eliminate the discharging variance, etc., by forming an air path from the discharging means within a loadable/unloadable process kit to the main body of a picture forming device and then providing an ozone filter. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 3, an electrostatic charger 4, a developing device 5 and a cleaner 15 are set in a body to form a process kit 16. This kit 16 can be loaded to and unloaded from a main body C with projected parts 16a and 16b engaging a guide 17 of the main body side. An aperture 18 of the kit 16 is fitted oppositely to an ozone filter 19 of the main body side. A discharging gap 4a is provided for the ozone produced from the charger 4 between a shielding plate of the charger 4 and the appearance part of the kit 16 and as between the charger 4 and the drum 3. The air is sucked by a cooling fan 20 provided to the main body C and passes through the gap 4 and a duct 21. A partitioning plate 22 is airtightly sealed, and the ozone of the charger 4 always passes through the filter 19.

Conventionally, in electrophotographic copying machines, it has been necessary to periodically replace the photoreceptor as a carrier, replenish developer, dispose of waste toner, clean charging wires, and replace and adjust various consumable parts. However, these were carried out by professional service personnel. Therefore, a service person had to come each time, which was extremely troublesome.
