Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a correct size and a uniformly applied film with no required skill and simplify automation by immersing a neck tube opening part of a cathode-ray tube in graphite liquid and evacuating properly the air inside of the cathode-ray tube by means of a pipe led into the cathode-ray tube through the neck tube. CONSTITUTION:A cathode-ray tube 1 is supported by a receptacle 10 while being immersed in graphite liquid 12 in a bath 11. The graphite liquid 12 is prevented by a stirring blade 13 from settling. Further, a pipe 14 leads into the cathode-ray tube 1 in the bath 11 while the other end is connected to a tube 18 on the side of a vacuum absorption pump 17 by a three-way magnetic valve 16 through the tube 15 to absorb the graphite into the cathode-ray tube 1 and after the level of graphite reaches the proper height, the three-way magnetic valve 16 is changed- over to the tube 19 on the atmosphere side, while finishing the application of graphite to the inner surface of the cathode-ray tube. The part of a neck tube 5 of the cathode-ray tube, wherein the interior graphite application is completed, is wiped with a wiper 20 and further immersed in a water bath 21 in order to wash the graphite inside of the neck tube 5 by continuously feeding water from the pipe 22 to the neck tube 5.

Conventionally, in order to apply the internal graphite 2, as shown in FIG. was applied. However, preventing graphite from adhering to the inner wall of the neck tube 5 is an extremely difficult task, especially when the diameter of the neck tube becomes small, and it is also difficult to obtain a uniform film due to variations among workers. There were drawbacks.

An embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS. 3 to 5. In FIG. 3, a cathode ray tube 1 is supported by a receiver 10 and immersed in graphite liquid 12 in a bath 11. Graphite [11
2 is prevented from settling by stirring blades 13. Furthermore, a pipe 14 of an appropriate length is erected in the tank 11 and communicates with the inside of the cathode ray tube 1. Further, the graphite is sucked into the pipe 14), and after reaching a suitable height, the three-way solenoid valve 16 is switched to switch to the atmosphere side pipe 19, and the coating on the inner surface is completed.

The neck tube 5 of the cathode ray tube, which has been coated with graphite inside through the above series of operations, is wiped with a 20# wiper as shown in FIG.
The graphite inside the neck tube 5 can be washed away by continuously supplying water to the neck tube 51 from the pipe 22, and the desired internal graphite film can be easily obtained. The effect is that it can be easily introduced.
