Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a pencil type conte with markedly improved lead strength, prepared by fixing conte lead mainly consisting of (a) clay which contains wax on and near the surface and (b) pigment, within a barrel by the use of adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of clay, pigment and water, which may also contain other additives as necessitated, is kneaded thoroughly and is formed into lead. Then the formed lead is dried so that it may have micropores and is dipped in molten wax at 90-200 deg.C for 1-5min (any wax may be used so long as it is readily fixed on and near the surface and has water repellency. e.g. Candellila wax). The conte lead is then fixed within a barrel by the use of adhesive.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention is: A pencil-shaped conte with greatly improved strength, that is, a two-piece shaft and a stone to be stored in it are integrated using an adhesive.

Traditionally, there have been two types of stone for lead wire conte, depending on the manufacturing method: ``fired stone'' and ``unfired core.''

Since the former is heat treated at high temperatures, it has disadvantages such as :r5 high strength but poor drawing quality, and it was not possible to make colored conte cores due to thermal discoloration of the pigment0. Although it was possible to make colored stones, the core strength was low and the core was prone to breakage not only when drawing but also when cutting the core. For this reason, great care must be taken not to break a single stone when drawing or carving out the core, and it was not possible to use a simple method of carving out the core using a sharpener or the like. This low core strength is due to the fact that when the lead is stored in a pencil-shaped shaft, the :r5 component swells with the solvent in the adhesive, which significantly reduces the core's original strength. be.

Therefore, as a result of intensive research, the inventors of the present invention have found that by utilizing the pores of the unfired container wick to contain wax in a layer on the surface and near the surface of the container wick, the wick can be made water repellent. We have come up with a method that prevents the core strength from decreasing due to adhesive solvents and maintains sufficient single-stone strength without heat treatment at high temperatures.

One method of imparting water repellency to the conte core is to coach +15 with a water repellent substance. However, with this method, the strength of the core tends to decrease due to peeling of the coating layer, and variations in the core diameter due to the thickness of the coating layer cause the shaft to break during storage or cause poor adhesion.

Another method is to add oil such as wax to the nine-core metal body. However, this method does not prevent the lead strength from decreasing after the shaft is stored, but the lead becomes too hard and the drawing quality becomes poor. Furthermore, it has the disadvantage that it produces blur, which is characteristic of Conte, and the color development is also poor.

On the other hand, the present invention's container core utilizes the pores of the container core that is not fired to contain wax in a layer on and near the surface of the container core, which prevents peeling of the water-repellent portion and decreases the core diameter. There is no variation, and the majority of :r5 is "unfired" (which is dangerous because it contains wax), so the drawability as a conte is not impaired. This is because when a pencil-shaped storyboard is used for drawing, it is generally used with a knife, sharpener, etc., exposing the shaft from the core. At that time, :r5 is cut into a conical shape or a shape close to it. In addition, in the pencil-shaped conte of the present invention, the part used for drawing is the "unfired" [wax-free] part of the core suitable for drawing.

From the above points, without heat-treating :r5 at high temperatures, sufficient core strength was maintained for pencil-shaped containers in many chromatic colors including black. The present invention was completed after discovering that it was possible to obtain a product with bright coloration without discoloration.

Further, other additives are added as necessary, the wires are thoroughly mixed, and the wire is formed into a constant core diameter. Thereafter, in order to create pores in :r5, the dried product is immersed in wax heated and melted at 90 to 200°C for 1 to 5 minutes. Next, the above-mentioned container core was housed in a key shaft using an adhesive to obtain nine pencil-shaped containers of the present invention.
