Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide the titled pigment containing tin powder as an effective component, stable even in an aqueous medium, forming a coating film having excellent metallic luster and clear color, and capable of applying a silver or gold metallic finish to an arbitrary substrate. CONSTITUTION:The objective pigment is prepared by mixing (A) 100pts.wt. ofa vehicle of a water paint (e.g. acrylic acid ester-styrene copolymer emulsion) (solid content: 50%) with (B) 5-100pts.wt. of tin powder having a fineness of preferably 60-350 mesh (e.g. flaky tin powder manufactured by a stamp mill, etc.).

In recent years, paints based on water-based paints are harmful to the human body and pose a risk of fire when handled, and consideration has been given to switching from car paints to water-based paints in order to prevent pollution. However, even now, metallic paints are still used by mixing metal powders such as aluminum powder and bronze powder, which do not have leafing properties, into a solvent-based IJT material. However, if these metal powders are used as they are in water-based paints such as water-bathable and oily or synthetic resin emulsion paints, stable dispersion can be achieved. Even so, these metal powders tend to react with water and are gradually denatured, making it difficult for them to exist stably. Furthermore, even if the embankment body uses the surface of the metal powder modified with a water-stable compound to improve the above-mentioned drawbacks, it is essentially impossible to completely prevent water from penetrating into the metal surface. In general, when water-based binders are used, they tend to allow water to pass through, even after the water-based paints have been bonded together in a short period of time to form a coating. Water that enters the paint film, even in a small amount, comes into contact with these metal powders and gradually causes a chemical reaction, resulting in discoloration and loss of metallic luster within a relatively short period of time, and this causes the paint to deteriorate.
This caused the film to deteriorate.

In view of the current situation, the present inventors conducted extensive research on how to obtain a coating film with a stable metallic luster in an aqueous medium using a water-based paint, and as a result, the metal powder of the water-based paint was developed. The present invention was completed based on the knowledge that the above object can be achieved by using tin powder, which has not been used in the past, as a pigment.

The tin powder used in the present invention is one that has been processed into flakes using a stamp mill, or one that has been mechanically crushed into fine powder using a crusher. You can use the The particle size of the tin powder can be appropriately selected depending on the required gloss of the coating film, but is generally 10 mesh to 3S.
It is desirable to have a range of 0 meshes. In general, if the particle size of the powder is larger than the 3JO mesh, the powder tends to settle in the paint or become uneven when applied, and if the particle size is smaller than the 3JO mesh, the metallic luster will decrease. This is not desirable because it becomes a tendency.

Incidentally, tin powder may be used in combination with pigments used in ordinary water-based paints as long as the desired metallic luster is not lost. For example, no titanium dioxide, iron oxide, nickel oxide, chromium oxide, 4 carbon black, etc.! Examples include I paint, organic pigments such as phthalocyanine blue, Hansa yellow, and carmine red.Tin powder itself is silver metallic, but by selecting an appropriate base or using other pigments in combination, Gold metallic finishes etc. can be obtained. Next, the water-based paint vehicle used in the present invention includes maleated resin, polyester resin, acrylic resin, melamine plum oil, modified resin, alkyd type, acrylic type, suction butadiene type, epoxy type, and polyacetic acid. There are vinyl-based N-fatty emulsifiers and mixtures thereof, but vinyl chloride and acrylic acid are used for the purpose of promoting the metallic luster and clarity of the powder and increasing the durability of the coating film itself. A glossy homopolymer emulsion or copolymer obtained by emulsion polymerization using one or more monopolymers such as ester, methacrylic acid ester, styrene, ethylene, vinyl acetate, maleic anhydride, vinyl versatate, vinylidene chloride, etc. It is preferable to use emulsion as the main ingredient. Additives such as body-vaginal colloid, anti-aging agent, filler, thickener, etc. can be mixed and used, but these should be used within the minimum amount of packaging. , S to 1001 parts per 100 parts of the vehicle for water-based paints (usually S to 1001 parts per 100 parts per 100 parts of solid cedar) are suitable.
