[Detailed Description of the Invention] [Purpose] This invention involves laminating a plurality of raw material veneers with an appropriate adhesive interposed, sandwiching them between templates with uneven surfaces and press-bonding them.
This invention relates to so-called flitches and improvements to a method for manufacturing laminated decorative veneers by slicing these flitches. When pressing with a pair of curved upper and lower molds in the manufacturing method of laminated decorative veneer, a lot of pressure is applied to the edges of the veneer, while less pressure is applied to the center. Such uneven pressure causes buckling of the material, differences in moisture movement within the material, and causes poor adhesion. In order to prevent this, the purpose is to equalize the pressure by utilizing the elastic modulus distribution of the material and reduce adhesion failures.

[Background technology] Rotary veneer is usually used as the raw material veneer. At this time, the thickness direction of the veneer is all in the radial direction (straight grain direction) of the wood.
The elastic modulus of the material becomes almost constant. On the other hand, as mentioned above, with a curved mold, the load is high on the outside and small on the inside, which is inconvenient for bonding.

[Structure of the Invention] The figure shows a cross section of a log 1. When the log-shaped material l is sliced as shown in the figure, the thickness direction of the outer side 3 of the veneer 2 is in the cutting line direction (grain direction). The inner side 4 becomes closer in the radial direction (straight grain direction), and the elastic modulus of the outer side 3 becomes lower. Therefore, the feature of this invention is to utilize the veneer 2 having such a distribution. That is, the elastic modulus distribution of the veneer used is made lower on the outside and larger on the inside as described above, and a laminated decorative veneer is produced in the same manner as before. When doing this, even if a large load is applied to the outside, a large displacement can be achieved, so buckling will not occur. Furthermore, even if the load is small on the inside, the stress will be relatively large and the pressure will be uniform. The veneer used in this invention is obtained by slicing log-shaped wood using a slicer, for example as shown in the figure.
If you cannot obtain the desired veneer from real wood logs, do the following. That is, the logs are cut into veneer pieces as appropriate depending on the diameter of the log and in consideration of the elastic modulus distribution of the veneer. Then, the pieces of veneer are joined together with the part with a low modulus of elasticity on the outside and the part with a high modulus of elasticity on the inside. They do so-called patchwork (using glue or thread). Then, use it as a veneer for making flitches. The veneer obtained here is rectangular like the raw material veneer for ordinary decorative veneers, and the elastic modulus is low on both sides of the width of the material and high on the inside. This is flitched using the same method as the conventional method to create a decorative veneer.

In addition, instead of batch work of veneer pieces, logs are cut into square timbers 5 of appropriate size, which are then glued together into blocks so that when sliced, the elastic modulus distribution is low on the outside and high on the inside. It may be carried out in the same manner as the conventional method. The adhesion method is not particularly limited. A convoser can be used to bond dried veneers, and adhesives such as urethane resin and epoxy resin can be used to bond raw logs.

[Effect] This invention is characterized by stacking the veneers in such a way that the compressive modulus of elasticity of the veneers is small on the outside of the swing width and large on the inside of the swing width. It has the effect of being uniform in the middle direction and reducing flitch adhesion failures.

[Example] A block 5 was cut as shown in the figure from a Chinese log with a diameter of 59 cm, and a veneer 2 with a thickness of 1 mm was cut using a slicer. The obtained veneer 2 was coated with 100 g/cd of hydraulic urethane resin, placed in a pair of curved mold plates (used in the normal method) of a laminated scooper, and 10 kg/- I tightened it with When the completed flitch was sliced, no defective adhesion was found, and no buckling was found.
