Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はレーザ光を用いて情報の記録・再生・消去等を
行なう光デイスク装置の光学ヘッドに関する。
従来、光デイスク装置において光源として半導体レーザ
を用いる場合集光効率を上げる為にビーム成形用のプリ
ズム又はシリンドリカルレンズを通過させてビームの形
を楕円から円に変え、その後ビームスプリッタ−を通し
てディスクにレーザ光を入射させていた。第１図は従来
光デイスク装置の説明図である。１は半導体レーザ光源
、２は集光レンズ、８Ｉｉビーム成形用プリズム、４は
ビームスプリッタ−１５は対物レンズ、６はディスク、
７は記録媒体、８けレンズ、９は受光器である。
本発明は上記の如き従来光学ヘッドの構造の部品点数を
減少すべく研究を重ねた結果得られたものであって、部
品点数を従来ヘッド構造より減することによってその構
造を簡潔としながらも集光効率は減少しない光学ヘッド
を提供することを目的とするものである。
以下、本発明に係わる光学ヘッドの一実施例を図面を用
いて詳細に説明する。
第２図は本発明に係わる光学ヘッドの一実施例の説明図
である。同図で第１図と同一部分は同一符号で示してい
る。１０はビーム成形を行なうプリズムで・ある。該プ
リズムｌＯにはレーザビーム入射側に特殊コートが施さ
れる。この特殊コートにより記録媒体７で反射された光
は入射ビームとは異なる光路に導かれレンズ８ｆ：介し
受光器９に到達する。即ちビームスブリットが行なわれ
る。
前記特殊コートは記録媒体７０種類により異なる。
前記記録媒体７が反射光の強度変化を利用することりこ
よって情報の再生を行なう方式のもの例えばＴｅベース
のディスクの場合は、前記特殊コートは偏光ビームスブ
リットを行なう膜とする。又その場合対物レンズ５の前
にη板を配置する。一方前記記録媒体７が垂直磁化容易
軸を有する磁性体膜でカー効果再生方式のディスクの場
合は前記特殊コートはハーフミラ−となるものを用いる
。
又その場合受光器８の前に検光子を配置する。
以上説明した如く本発明によれば、集光効率を下げるこ
となくヘッドの部品点数を減らすことができ、ヘッドの
小型・軽量化を可能上するものである。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. １　レーザ光源と情報記録媒体との間の光路上に設けら
    れ、レーザビームのビーム成形を行なうプリズムにおい
    て、該プリズムの端面にビームスブリットの機能を与え
    るコート材を被覆したことを特徴とする光学ヘッド。
